Let’s go down the memory lane and look at 7 ways I transformed an old men/women’s shirts into dresses or tops. I am currently working on another men’s shirt refashion and have lots of old shirts in my “refashion pile” so I am sure this won’t be the first compilation!
#1 and #2: I bought two of the same shirts so with the 2nd one, I turned it into a girl’s dress, I took in the sides, made the sleeves skinnier and shorter, then with the extra fabric added the waist tie and the ruffles on the shoulders.
#3 I transformed a plain shirt into a shirt with pleated sleeves with a ribbon trim and a bow in the back.
#4 I transformed a XXL men’s shirt into a fitted dress for my daughter. I cut the middle of the shirt, made the bodice much smaller, gathered the bottom to make a gathered skirt, and attached it back. I also made the sleeves into an elbow length.
#5 this was when I entered a competition called refashion runway and the theme was gingham. So I turned a XL men’s shirt into a crop top and a skirt set with a matching headband using the collar.
#6 was also for refashion runway and the theme was stripes and flora. I used a Large stripled women’s shirt and transformed it into a dress and then for the floral theme, added red tulip pockets.
You made it to #7! I turned a large men’s shirt into a bell sleeve dress with a v-neck line in the back for my daughter.
Let me know which of the 7 was your favorite and if you’d like to see me transform more old shirts, give me a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel! See you next time!
