Sealed for Eternity
Our dear friends Sae Joon and Dorie got sealed in the Provo temple this past Friday. As Jay and I sat there with all their friends and family in the sealing room, I felt so much peace and the spirit was so strong. With the feelings that I feel every time I enter the Lord’s house, I can’t deny that I know how real the place is. I know Sae Joon and Dorie were sealed not until just death to them apart, but literally for eternity. How romantic is that!!!
Most men when they get home from work supposedly sit down on the couch and turn on the TV and “surf” channels for a sporting event of some sort or go directly to ESPN as they’re “transition or down time.” Does that make me less of a man if I absolutely LOVE watching HGTV? (If it does, come tell me face to face and we’ll have a heart to heart) As we will be closing on our first home by the end of the month, I have been enthralled with HGTV and renovating our first home.

I could watch that channel all day long and never get sick of it! It’s funny that by watching HGTV, which honestly sounds like a really girly channel (I shall admit), that I find inspiration. HGTV has given me some great ideas for the house. It probably doesn’t help that every day when I go to look at one of my really good friends Stephanie’s blog, its mmmmm how do you say that? Kind of depressing to realize how uncreative and unoriginal I am and how she basically is the most creative genius I know (the rest of her family isn’t too bad either, esp her mom)!

We wanted to get a slightly older house that needed some fixing up to do and we found it! As tech savvy as I am, I carry around a old school black mead composition tablets that has ALL my ideas and sketches and any thought that I figure needs to be written down on a piece of paper! In my composition book, I have drawn and redrawn the house plans a million times. I have researched a ridiculous number of products an insane amount of times. And I have priced out material after material in order to see how we can get the most “bang” for our “buck.” Right now I have a whole page on my infamous “TO-DO” list! Shoot…I’m probably the only husband that wishes his to-do list was longer 😛 But you may ask: How did I already get a to-do list when we haven’t even moved in yet you ask… I think I have to blame it on 3 people:
1. My Jeff the Toolman Tyau dad who’s building itch was contagious.
2. My Sarah the designSTAR wife who can’t WAIT to paint!
3. My cute little angel Adi who’s chubby legs will soon be crawling.

So obviously I won’t tackle these all right when we move it, but you can sure bet that I’m EXCITED!!! I just wish that HGTV would come do a remodel on my house!!!

This Was SOOOOO Long Ago!!!
So me and the girls used to love playing The Colors. Basically, you take votes to random questions such as, “Who’s most likely to become the President?”, etc. I was reading all my old emails between Jay and I yesterday and I came across this one e-mail back in May 2005 and it sure made me laugh.

31) Will wear lingerie for their husband the most: Sarah

I think this is so funny because no I didn’t get any votes on the ones I actually wanted to win such as most likely to be the prophet’s wife, or most likely to run into the burning building, or most likely to do charity work, but no, all the ones I’ve won were things like…most likely get crushes from my son’s friends? Wow, I’m so touched that this is really what my friends think of me? Haha.
I read some to Jay like the one “Who will marry the HOTTEST man(#17)?” In which I got the most votes and he said to me, “Wow, so this game really has some truth in it huh?” But then I told him how I won #26, most likely to marry the most cheesiest guy and he became silent. But I agree Jay, this game does have some truth in it huh? ^ ^ except I so don’t wear the pants in the relationship, Jay does FOR SURE. But I like it that way because he’s very wise and I respect and trust his opinions and outlook on things. But as we all know, if I really believed strongly in something and wanted something really bad, I would have it my way. 😉
Aubrey’s Blessing
Is Aubrey sticking her tongue at me?
This past Saturday evening, Jay says to me, “They’re blessing Aubrey today so we gotta dress up in our Sunday best.” I thought it was a little odd that they’ll be blessing the baby on a Saturday but trusting Jay, I dressed up in my new spring skirt and lacy top, with my green flats. Jay didn’t look too bad either, with his handsome new haircut, button-up shirt, gray slacks and a green tie(to match me of course).
When we got to the chapel, everyone there was wearing, umm…jeans. We quickly found out that they were blessing the baby the next day on a fast Sunday(like most usually do), and this was just a dinner party for the people that will be coming the next day. Jay got all embarrassed and he quickly went out to the car and changed into his t-shirt and slippers. Everyone teased him all throughout, including Aubrey’s dad Paul who started the party saying, “Thank you for coming to Aubrey’s DINNER party. We will be blessing Aubrey TOMORROW, not TODAY thank you.”
Thanks Paul & Misti for a wonderful party, the food was delicious~!
