Football Party Ideas

I purchased the COKE at my local Sam’s Club. Did you know that you can order online at Sam’s Club and instantly go pick it up? I’ll be using that service more often, it makes my life way more convenient!

How to set a Football-inspired Party Table

    -Green tablecloth
    -White ribbon or tape
    -Banner
    -Football cut-outs
    -Party zone tape
Lay the green tablecloth on the table. Tape the ribbon vertically onto the table, I used 5 strips. This is your “football field”. Put the banner up on the backdrop along with the football cut-outs and tape the party-zone tape across the edge of the table.

    1/3 cup Kikkoman soy sauce
    ¼ cup Coca-Cola
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    3 tablespoons sesame oil

1/4 cup chopped green onions (about onions)

    1/2 teaspoon salt
½ small Asian pear, pureed(use 1/2 small apple if you don’t have a pear)
    1. Ask the butcher to slice the meet thin to 2-3 mm. If you are slicing it yourself, slice it while it’s still a little bit frozen for easy slicing.
    2. Puree the Asian pear. Add onto the remaining ingredients except for the meat.
    3. Pour the marinade onto the meat, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 mins. or overnight.
    4. Grill, or saute in a pan until the meat is cooked.

      4th of July Party

      June 29, 2015~ PARTY

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. We are throwing a big 4th of July party over at our house and I needed some quick and easy dessert ideas(because my motto lately is to simplify, simplify, and simplify some more to make my life easier :), so I threw this quick and easy party to help you get inspired for the 4th of July! #TwizzlersSummer #CollectiveBias

How to throw an easy 4th of July Party
      The backdrop:

      • Silver cut-out stars from a party store
      • Blue & Red paper lanterns from a party store
      • 2 white tablecloths from the dollar store
      • Clear fishing lines or strings
      • double-sided tape
Using double-sided tape, tape the white table cloth on the wall as the back drop. Lay the other table cloth over the table. Stick the stars on the white wall and using the clear fishing lines or strings, hang the lanterns from the ceiling.
      American Flag Cake:

      • 1 container of whipped cream
      • White cake mix
      • 1 bag of Strawberry Twizzlers
      • 1/2 c. blueberries(rinsed)
Bake the white cake in a rectangle pan following it’s directions on the box. Spread a layer of whipped cream all over the cake. Using the Strawberry Twizzlers, make stripes, cutting some as necessary to make the stripes fit. On the left top corner, use the blueberries as “stars”.

      Basket Holder Cupcakes
      • 12 cupcakes
      • 1-2 Pull N Peel Red White N Blue
Cut the Pull N Peel Red White N Blue in half or 1/3(the mini cupcakes I cut 1/3), then pull it so it’s one color of each(red, white & blue). Place both ends on either side of the cupcakes and press onto the frosting.
I purchased all the ingredients at Wal Mart, I am sure you’ve seen the Twizzlers Summer Fun aisle if you’ve been there recently.
Now that I’ve shared with you some of my ideas for the 4th of July celebrations, are there any recipes that you make for the Holiday? I’d love to know, please share below!

      End of School S’more Party

      June 15, 2015~ PARTY

This post is sponsored by Pier 1 Imports. To celebrate the end of school, I threw a s’more party and invited a few of my girls’ friends and everyone had a blast! I mean, who can resist s’mores, right?

we are very serious about roasting marshmallows in our family.

Achilles is 25 in human years, can you believe it? My girls think it’s the funniest thing when I tell them that he is way older than them and he’s 25 years old!
Summer has officially started with my girls finishing school last week! It makes me sad to think my second child will be in school all day along with her older sister starting this Fall. I know I will cry the first day of school and miss them a ton in the day, but the next day I will be loving my freedom! Haha. It’s like when in the day you just had enough and you can’t wait until you put them to bed so you can have some alone time but soon after they fall asleep, you miss them so you go into their room and stare at their angelic, innocent faces and are tempted to wake them up. Or is that just me… I go into their rooms every night before going to bed and just stare into their cute faces. Creepy much?

Anyway, to kick off the Summer, we had a Summer night s’mores party in our backyard that’s been newly decorated with Pier 1 Imports. I think out of everyone at the party, my little boy was the most excited, he kept jumping up and down and smiling at all the guests(he really likes girls and is a huge flirt) and also kept pointing to the s’mores tray in such delight and excitement.

S’more parties are fairly simple and quick to throw, you just need 3 ingredients of chocolates, marshmallows & graham crackers and a fire, but everyone gets so excited and who doesn’t love roasting marshmallows? My kids are just like my husband and I, they love having friends over and feeding them, so they were so excited they got to invite some of their friends over. My hair stinks so bad like smoke as I type this but it was all worth it. Just like Motherhood. Motherhood is messy and stinky at times, but it’s so worth it. All of it.

After School Snack Party with Hormel Peperoni

      March 25, 2015~ PARTY

My kids love and devour Hormel Pepperonis so I thought why thought throw a party out of it? This party has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. As always, thank you for supporting this blog! #PepItUp #CollectiveBias
I don’t know about you, but by the time my daughter comes home from school, she is always hungry and asks for a snack.  It’s such a awkward time at 3:30 in the afternoon when you’re just a few hours away from dinner time so you don’t want your child to eat a hefty meal and not be hungry for dinner, but you don’t want to give her something little that won’t satisfy her for a few hours.  So I made a quick and easy pizza pocket and zucchini pizzas and they were so perfect for her and her friends after school!  These two recipes were perfect because not only are they filling but not hefty, but they are super easy and fast and who wants to cook a meal before making the real meal which is dinner?  Not me!
My daughter was so excited to help me decorate for the party and came up with the designs herself! She also decorated the table with sea shells and blue and green rocks, treasure chest and her mermaids to give it a “Under the Sea” feel to the party.  I think she did a wonderful job decorating it, don’t you think?  I made the flowers using the crepe paper on a white paper plate.  I glued the first layer of crepe paper and pressed down to the glue as I ruffled the paper, in a round circle until all the white paper area was filled.
Below are the two recipes, enjoy!
      Easy Pizza Pockets

      Ingredients:

      1
can (8 oz) crescent dinner rolls

      1/4
      cup pizza sauce

      3/4
      cup shredded mozzarella cheese

      1/2
      cup sliced Hormel mini pepperoni

      1
      teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese

      Instructions:

      • 1. Heat oven to 375°F. Unroll dough onto cookie sheet; separate into 4 rectangles (2 triangles each). Press each rectangle to form a 6×4-inch rectangle, firmly pressing perforations to seal.
      • 2. Spread 1 tablespoon pizza sauce on half of each rectangle to within 1 inch of edge. Sprinkle each with 3 tablespoons cheese; top with 6 slices pepperoni. Fold dough from the top over filling; firmly press edges with fork to seal. Sprinkle each rectangle with 1/4 teaspoon grated cheese. With fork, prick top of each to allow steam to escape.
      • 3. Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until deep golden brown. Serve warm.

      Zucchini Pizza Bites
      Zucchini Pizza Bites
      INGREDIENTS
      • 1 tablespoon olive oil
      • 3 zucchini, cut into 1/4-inch thick rounds
      • Kosher salt and freshy ground black pepper, to taste
      • 1/3 cup marinara sauce
      • 1/2 cup finely grated mozzarella
      • 1/4 cup Hormel pepperoni minis
      • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning(optional)
      INSTRUCTIONS
      • Preheat oven to broil.
      • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Working in batches, add zucchini and cook, flipping once, until golden, about 1-2 minutes on each side; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
      • Place zucchini rounds onto a large baking sheet. Top each zucchini round with marinara, mozzarella and pepperoni minis.
      • Place into oven and cook until the cheese has melted, about 1-2 minutes.
      • Serve immediately, sprinkled with Italian seasoning, if desired.
Check out other Hormel Peperoni recipes on their Facebook Page.

      Disney Princess Easter Party

      March 18, 2015~ PARTY

My kids and their friends had so much fun at a Disney Princess Easter Party I threw last week  This party has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser, and all opinions are my own.  As always, thank you for supporting this blog of mine! #DisneyEaster #CollectiveBias

      Disney Princess Easter Party
To prepare for this party, I went to Wal Mart to buy all the supplies for decorations, like the Disney Princess plush Easter basket, the Princess design tablecloth I used as a backdrop, pink/white polka dot paper straws and bunch of toys to stuff in the Easter eggs(Princess favors, Cadbury eggs, Starbursts, mint candies).

My daughter was so excited to help me stuff all these cool Princess themed toys inside the Easter eggs!

      Easter Egg Rice Krispies
After the kids ate their snacks, we made a Easter egg rice krispies(recipe below) and went on a Easter egg hunt!  Throwing Easter egg hunts in my home is our family tradition we do every year.  I love throwing private Easter egg hunt parties because the public ones are always so crowded and some kids get so competitive, but more so the parents of the kids!  Every year I see the moms and dads running around the egg hunt grabbing everything they could see and stuffing it inside their kid’s egg baskets.  And happily looking at what their child got and how full the basket is while some of the other kids are walking around with just a few eggs and crying because they didn’t get so many.  That just boggles my mind.  We do go on as many public egg hunts as possible, but I make sure my kids go around and look for any kids that are sad or crying and share their eggs.  And I certainly don’t help stuffing their egg baskets, of course.  So the private ones that I personally throw are nice because there’s not as many kids and every kid gets a fair share.  After the egg hunt, all the kids sat and opened their eggs and traded toys so they all had at least one kind of each toy.  I wrapped up the treats in a Princess party bag and everyone went home happy!
How do you feel about public Easter egg hunts?  Do you participate in them or no and why?  They sure can get crazy!

      Easter Egg Rice Krispies

      Ingredients:
      rice krispies
      a plastic egg
treats to put inside the egg
      Directions:
      1. Make rice krispies as usual.  Put a chunk of rice krispies inside the egg and with your fingers press down to the sides of the eggs(mine was about 1/2″ thickness).
      2. Put treats inside the egg and close the egg.
      2. Let the rice krispies harden for 20 mins.
      3. Open up the egg and there you have a Easter egg made out of rice krispies!
