Bits of our weekend.

April 25, 2012~ Etc.

Some of the things we did this past weekend:
Friday, we went and got some family pictures taken(and we didn’t get in a fight, hallejuah!:), met up with Jay’s friend and her adorable son at the discovery gateway children’s museum, saturday morning I went to a women’s expo with a friend(yes, I’m wearing the same dress as I did the night before, haha) and saturday night, we went to the NBA Jazz game! Jay won 4 VIP tickets which included parking, fancy buffet style dinner with a live jazz band playing, 6th row seating, and snacks during half time.  We sure could get used to this. 😉

Easter Sunday.

April 10, 2012~ Etc.

We woke up on Easter Sunday to find Easter baskets filled with goodies for us three girls from the “Easter bunny” a.k.a Jay.

For Adi: bubble gum, princess tattoos, a sequin purple shirt, chocolate bunny, princess frisbee.
For Ana: lollipops, a sequin blue shirt, chocolate bunny, chocolate eggs, a giant princess pencil.
For me: dove dark chocolate bunny, cadbury eggs, a shop card.  he knows exactly what I like! 😉
Grandma from Hawaii sent us an Easter package filled with goodies, including these Hawaiian dresses for the girls.  Thanks grandma!
And guess what the Easter bunny got Jay for Easter! 😉
Achilles spent Easter… sleeping.  all day.
Then after church, the girls decorated eggs and helped me make rice krispy eggs…
while Achilles slept some more.
Easter Rice Krispy Eggs with a surprise inside!

Easter Rice Krispy Eggs with a surprise inside!

*Recipe can be found in this post.
We watched Ana stare and smile at the chocolate bunny for 3 minutes straight.
Hope you all had a lovely Easter!

friday night beauty night.

March 26, 2012~ Etc.

source
instead of going out like we usually do on a friday night, we stayed home and relaxed.  jay cooked deviled eggs with the girls(adi had cooked deviled eggs at her preschool that day and insisted we make some and try them because it was so yummy), then i painted their nails, and then they wanted to paint daddy’s nails which jay was more than happy to oblige(a little too happy, hmm), and then it would’ve ended there but then jay goes, “adi and ana!  don’t you want to paint mommy’s nails too?”  after seeing jay’s nails that the girls had done, i was reluctant to let them but in the end they won(thanks jay).  so all four of us are now sporting blue, green & yellow nails.
then i recently learned how to make a bun with a sock!  yes, a sock!  apparently, i’m a little late on this sock bun, but i was excited to try it out on me and adi, and i love it, it’s so comfortable and doesn’t hurt your head at the end of the day when you’re wearing the usual high bun w/o the sock.  then ana wanted me to do it on her hair and i was skeptical since her hair’s not long enough yet and this is how it turned out.
i used this tutorial for a sock bun.
too bad we couldn’t try the sock bun on jay. 😉

weekend in vegas.

March 1, 2012~ Etc.

i hope you’re ready for a plethora of pictures, because that’s what you’re going to get!
jay’s brother was coming down to vegas from hawai’i for a business trip so we decided to take a little road trip to spend the weekend with him and his family.

and this was my favorite part of the trip, the mermaid show!  our two girls love mermaids and even before the trip started, i was telling them about seeing a “real” mermaid so they were very excited.  so the show starts and she comes down to the water, spinning and all, looking very legit but then as soon as she gets to the bottom, she hurriedly grabs her oxygen inhaler and not only that, but i see that she’s wearing goggles and nose plugs!  the goggles totally squished her eyes and her nose pinched from the nose plugs, and her inhaling the oxygen…it was all too much!  my sister in-law jaymie and i could not stop laughing, i almost had tears in my eyes!  i just hope the mermaid thought we were just so happy and mesmerized by how real and convincing she looked. 😉

oh no, she’s almost out of breathe!  better inhale that oxygen quick, little mermaid!

we went to the shark reef aquarium,
watched the mermaid show,
stayed at the golden nugget hotel,
went to crown bakery, my favorite place to hit in vegas!
played at the adventuredome theme park,
found one of jay’s top 3 favorite restaurant ever, pho kim long, for their duck & calamari.
(let’s just say i’ll never forget the name of that restaurant. 😉
we plan on going back again very soon so i wanted to ask you,
are there other cool places/food worth checking out next time we’re in vegas?

giving thanks.

December 12, 2011~ Etc.

(i know thanksgiving was awhile ago
but it’s better late than never, right?)
we’re asians(surprise!) so we don’t celebrate thanksgiving.
we just eat turkey and loads of other food,
watch football, and spend time with family. 😉

photos taken by our cousin will.
every year we spend thanksgiving brunch with jay’s grandma’s sister
and her wonderful family.  we look forward to it every year!
then we went to my brother’s and had thanksgiving dinner there,
but i was so hungry that i was too busy eating to be taking any pictures.
i’m so grateful for many things but most of all,
i’m grateful for my savior, Jesus Christ who loves me so much
that he was willing to feel every burden of mine so that he can
comfort me and atone for my sins.  he is wonderful.
