indoor camping.

November 18, 2011~ Etc.

one of our favorite things to do when it’s cold outside
is to have an indoor camping.
we turn on the fireplace, take out our tent and sleeping bags
and roast marshmallows by the fire.

we roasted the jumbo size marshmallows which is a fun idea
but it just takes too long!  we are not that patient when it comes to
roasting our marshmallows to that perfect, crispy brown. πŸ™‚

raspberry picking.

October 6, 2011~ Etc.

we went to an orchard to pick some raspberries so i can make raspberry jam
and to eat it fresh of course.  our girls loved it because as you pick them youself,
you could eat as many as you want.  okay, okay, i loved it too,
i was hungry when we went but by the time we were finished,
i was so full of raspberries.  man, i was one happy girl!

it was so beautiful there and there’s something about being so close in nature
and hand picking fresh fruits(because you can hand pick not-fresh fruits;)
that makes you more grounded and helps to realign your priorities in life.
and on our drive home, my husband and i talked excitedly
about living in a 40 acre land one day and owning an orchard full of raspberries,
blackberries, strawberries, cherries, grapes, and whatever else we could dream of.
my husband also wants to own an animal farm but are you kidding me?
there is NO way i will wake up at 3 in the morning to feed some chickens,
and milk the cows!  i’m not a city girl but i’m not a country girl either.
but a fruit farm?  i think i can live with that. πŸ˜‰

lagoon in pictures.

September 21, 2011~ Etc.

we had a lot of fun at lagoon this year, especially since it’s such a fun age for my little girls,
where they’re old enough to enjoy all the rides together.(last year little “a” was still too small)
and i don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, but none of the employees cared
about the height requirement for any of the rides, when most of the rides they went on
they were about 2 feet too short.  but the girls sure loved it!

we invited uncle bobby and auntie jasmine along for the ride(quiet literally πŸ˜‰
and i thought it was so cute how on one of the rollercoaster rides we went on,
auntie was way more scared to go on it than our two girls,
who in fact said to us, “again!” right after the ride was over. πŸ™‚

daddy kept saying to them, “hey! pick me up!” and the girls thought it was hilarious.

i love my family. so much.

camping

September 14, 2011~ Etc.

we went camping ο»Ώwith our family and cousins at the bridal veil falls,
just about 20 mins. away from our house.  i’ve always loved camping,
probably because my dad loves to go camping, so growing up we hit all
the major national parks across the country and built many memories doing so.
there’s just something about camping that makes you forget about the wordly things
(maybe because there’s no phone, computer, internet, or shopping malls there πŸ˜‰
and remember what’s most important like family, friends,
and the beautiful nature God has created.
we went just overnight and it was our girls’ very first time camping
and they absolutely loved it.  the only thing my older one cared about or wanted to do
was to roast marshmallows, and my little one didn’t even throw any tantrums at all!
i call that a true success. πŸ™‚
so we told colby(the one w/ the cool stache) and jay to go fetch some wood so jay grabbed
his machete & 30 mins. later, they came back with these ridiculously huge tree logs.
i mean, who does that?
s’mores with reesse’s pieces.  yum.
w/ one of my most dear, loved friends/cousin/soulmate, ginny.
thanks for staying up ’till 4:30 a.m to talk about deep doctrine, and feminism.  i heart you.
ms. A with her dora snuggie
i wish we went camping more this summer! πŸ™
p.s: to prepare ourselves for camping next summer, do you have a favorite camping site?
