His & Hers Sunday Best: Styled by 5

August 13, 2015~ Etc.

I am starting a series called “Styled by 5” with 4 other incredible women where 5 of us bloggers with different shapes and sizes of body types will each style the same item of clothing in our own way. These girls are fabulous and I am so excited to be a part of this series! It’s not going to be like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants where one pair of jeans magically fit all those girls that have way different sizes from each other(that’s so unrealistic, I always thought that was so weird!), we are each getting the same style of clothing in our own sizes to style it in our own way.
So check out Deidre, Kaylynn, Bethany, and Jacque to see how they styled this same dressl! And watch for a new piece of clothing styled by 5 every month.
But before my outfit, of course I have to share my son’s Sunday Best. Gah, I cannot get enough of him.

He fell asleep in the car today while we were running errands a little after 6 pm. so thinking he’ll sleep through the night and Jay and I being excited that we’ll get more alone time together just the two of us, of course he wakes up at 9 pm just after we put our two girls to bed. So Jay went in to put him back to sleep and he has not come out yet. And it’s 1 a.m. right now. So yay for alone time with just me and my husband! πŸ˜€

The problem with taking pictures of my kids is once I start, I can’t stop, they’re just so adorable! And then when I download them unto my computer and see which ones to delete, I have the hardest time deleting any of them! And I blog at night when the kids are asleep and seeing these adorable pictures of my son makes me want to go snuggle him right now and it makes me miss him. Motherhood is so odd isn’t it? When they’re awake, you can’t wait until they go to bed but once they’re in bed, you miss them and wish they were awake.
This dress from Shabby Apple is the first item we are all styling, it’s very classy and simple so it works with all of our various styles since we can accessorize in our own way. I got the size 0P and I love when I try on clothes and it fits me perfectly and I don’t need to tailor it in any way! I paired the dress with this beautiful pearl necklaces from Laguna Pearl. They’re 6.5-7.0mm White Akoya Pearls. and it adds a simple yet elegant finish to my dress, and this is my first time owning a real pearl necklace! Pearl necklaces are such a classic piece that I don’t think will ever go out of style. My girls have been asking me everyday if they can have the necklace and one of my girls even asked me, “Mommy, then when you die can I have it?” Oh, my girls are so sweet, aren’t they? The pearl necklace is a neutral piece which I thought was fitting for my bright shoes. And I am not sure what color these shoes are called, does anybody know? I just know it looks great with the blue and it’s color blocking yet not busy and loud, I think it compliments well with the dress.
Be sure to check out how my 4 lovely blogger ladies Deidre, Kaylynn, Bethany, Jacque have styled this dress!

Embroidered dress | Light blue sandals: H&M
These pictures are not taken in front of my house, gasp!
I just got back from Girls Camp late Saturday evening and I came back totally exhausted and full of bug bites but it was so much fun. I teach 16-18 year old girls from my church and every year girls 12-18 years old go to camp and I couldn’t go last year because I was still nursing my son. I bonded with these girls so much and it was a time I will never forget! More on that later, I hope you all had a great weekend!

Mommy + Daughter Sunday Best

July 15, 2015~ Etc.

I got my blouse, heels, and my girl’s top and the gold flats from thredUP, my favorite fashion resale company that I talked about previously. I just love this store so much! And guess what? They came across that blog post and have asked me to become their ambassador! I am so excited.
Another thing that makes me love thredUP even more is that they have partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to recognize and thank teachers for their hard work. I get pretty fired up and passionate when I talk about teachers and how the government should higher their salary and stop cutting budgets to schools because the teachers are literally shaping the future of America. I don’t understand how so much money is spent on sports when in the end, they don’t make you a better person, and it’s solely for just entertainment. Teachers dedicate so much of their time and money into their students and what they do is so honorable. I always said you have to be not worldly and truly selfless if one wants to become a teacher. I love teachers and I think they deserve so much better such as better maternity leave, higher pay and more funds for their schools.
So how this Raise A Hand for Teachers Program works is, anyone can nominate a teacher between  July 15 – August 23 that they think deserves an award and three teachers each win $2,500 for classroom supplies and $500 to thredUP. 50 runner-up winners receive $100 to thredUP. Teachers are extremely generous with their time as well as their money. According to AdoptAClassroom.org, teachers spend an average of $500 of their own money each year to equip their classrooms. 70% of teachers have even purchased apparel items like jackets, socks and shoes for their students. Read the inspiring nominations and watch an adorable video of kids thanking teachers, plus find new survey data from AdoptAClassroom.org at thredUP.com/Teachers. The winners will be announced on September 8th.
I have personally nominated my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher, my daughter graduated from Kindergarten over a year ago but she still talks about her and asks if we could go visit her so she could give her a hug. Her teacher made her feel loved, special, unique and confident in learning and I’ll forever love and respect her for that! My kids spend just as much time with their teachers as they do with me which is a little scary and sad, but having a good teacher is so important to the kids and to me.
Remember to share details of a teacher you are nominating, e.g.: I nominated [name] from [school] who [relationship to you]. [Reason for nomination.]

Sunday Best

July 2, 2015~ Etc.

Dress: BCBG | Heels: H&M | Bag: Kate Spade
Do you notice my hair is a little different? I recently got my hair dyed & got the keratine straightening treatment at Pureza Salon & Medi Spa. The picture below is right after my straightening treatment.
I wanted this treatment not for the straightening effect but for shine and while my hair is much straighter and less frizzy, I would say my hair’s only about 10% shinier than before the treatment so if you are looking to get a Keratine straightening treatment mainly for the shine, I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you have curly hair or wavy hair and want your hair straighter and less frizzy, I say go for it! I did find the process a little excruciating because with the straightener, they pulled on my hair for 3 hours and every time they ran over the straightener on my hair, several hairs would get pulled out, no matter how many times I told them my hair was getting pulled out.
Pureza Salon & Medi Spa also pampered me with their Pureza Signature Facial and that one I would do again! It felt so relaxing and my skin felt smooth and glowing afterwards. The facial provides a thorough cleanse, followed by extractions and then layer upon layer of anti aging and fruit enzyme exfoliation to rejuvenate pores and firm the skin. I wished the shoulder and the neck massage was longer but I might just request more of the massage next time. πŸ™‚
Thank you Pureza Spa for letting me have my me-time! I don’t get to pamper myself often but what mother doesn’t need a little pampering now and then? πŸ˜‰

top| skirt | heels: F21(old but similar here)
To show you the beautiful lace details of the skirt, I had to make the picture a little dark but still then, it doesn’t do the skirt justice! This is my favorite skirt right now, maybe because my favorite color is white for the Summer. I went to church in this outfit yesterday and another girl was wearing the same exact outfit with light blue top, white skirt and nude heels. I should have taken a picture with her. πŸ™‚
