split-neck pleated blue dress DIY

July 11, 2011~ DIY DREAM HOUSE

one day while i was driving, i saw a girl waiting at a stop light wearing a beautiful dress.
it was a very pretty blue, the color of a bright clear sky, had a split-neck, and a pencil shaped skirt.
and i just knew i had to find the same exact dress or make one myself!  so i did.
the difference with mine is instead of doing the pencil skirt, i did a flared, pleated skirt.
i thought it gave it a more fun, summery look.
shoes c/o of romwe
headband from s.t collection
the color doesn’t show up well in these pictures, it’s a brighter, more clearer blue, a lot prettier in person.
i did use a pattern this time, i combined two patterns, i used the top from a dress pattern i had
(except it was just a round neck one so i made up the split-neck part), and a skirt pattern.
do you like it?

I don't like this dress. I absolutely love it! I can't believe you made it. You're uber-talented. I love the neckline and the banded waist. It fits you like a glove. Wow!

There is so much I like about your dress! The color. the neck line, the fitted body yet flared skirt. All of it combining to look oh so cute.

    Hi Tanya,

I couldn't help you, I made this dress and made up the top pattern, so I don't think any stores sell a dress like this. You can always make one? best luck to you!

It is beautiful. Could you tell me which two patterns you used so that I can have a go at making one for myself in green
