So my wifey is leaving me this Friday to Korea for the longest boringest month of my life for her brothers wedding and I am super lugubrious that she’s leaving 🙁 To top it off she’s taking my two little princesses and I really think “jay time” is goina be overrated after about 5 minutes of me dropping them off at the airport. It’s been super stressful trying to get efrything done in time especially passports. About $400 of passport fee’s and expedited fee’s later, we weren’t even sure if we would get the girls passports in time. I have been calling daily to ensure that my persistent nagging hurries up the processes as we applied barely 2 weeks before they are leaving. We got Adalie’s passport on Friday and are just waiting on Ariana’s one. This idiot was seriously lucky we weren’t speaking face to face…True story:

pASSport agent: Hello, thanks for calling the national passport information center. My name’s David, can I help you? Are you checking on the status of your passport?

me: Hey David, no, I’m checking on the status of my daughters passport. I have all her information

pASSport agent: OK, what’s her SSN?

me: 123-45-6789

pASSport agent: OK, and her full name”

me: Ariana Kanani Hyobi Tyau

pASSport agent: DOB?

me: 03/12/2009

pASSport agent: Mailing Address?

me: 1234 Big Bubble Gum Rd. Provo, UT. 84604

pASSport agent: Ok, just one second…Thanks sir. OK since this is not you, I will need to talk to Ariana to make sure you have permission to inquire about her passport.

me: ???UH…are you serious??? You’re joking right???

pASSport agent: No sir, we are not allowed to give any information about the status of a passport over the phone without the person that is listed on the passports verbal or written consent.

me: Um yeah, she’s a baby, she doesn’t talk, look at her birthday…03/12/2009-she’s not even two months old!

pASSport agent: (silence) Sir, I’m sorry. I need verbal consent from her before I can give you any updates on her passport.

me getting mad: OK David isn’t it?

pASSport agent: …yah?

me trying to be calm: Kay, we are leaving on May 8th, in less than 5 days from today! Ariana can not talk, she is a two month old B A B Y, do you understand that? Babies don’t talk! If she did, my life would be MUCH easier. I have been calling in every day for the past week and a half and you are the first *pause* (contemplating if i should call him an idiot) person…to ask me such a stupid question! What aren’t you comprehending here David???

pASSport agent: …um just one second sir *puts me on hold*

pASSport agent: OK sir, I just talked with my boss and I will be able to give you the status update on this passport

me being a smart A: oh really? you had to ask your boss??? *laughing* Did he explain to you that babies don’t talk??? *laughing*

pASSport agent talking really fast: Sir, this passport is in its final completion steps at the SF passport agency, it should be mailed off later today or early tomorrow. I see you did expedited service and overnight express shipping. Thank you for calling the National Passport Information Center. Have a great day. Goodbye.
