my dress at shabby apple

July 27, 2011~ DIY DREAM HOUSE

remember when i made it to the top 15 for the shabby apple dress design contest and the day they announced the winner, i didn’t even bother to check because i knew for sure i had no chance of winning?
it’s still hard for me to believe that i won and it’s harder for me to grasp that the dress is finally made and will be available for sale in august for shabby apple’s fall collection.  shabby apple was kind enough to send me their final product for a sneak peek and i’m excited to share it with you too!
so what do you think?  see my original dress here.
and another question.  i’m looking into manufacturers right now to have a few of my designs made to be available for purchase.  yes, so exciting right?  for my designs i’m thinking about the pleated dress (shabby apple made it a little different and my design will be a little different than my original but even better ;), the split-neck dress, and the sailor dress.  i also have some other designs in mind that i haven’t made yet.  so my question is, would you buy those designs yourself?  and are there other designs you’d like to see have it made?

…and to answer your question: I would totally buy your version of the pleated dress without a doubt. It is truly beautiful. Your designs look so tailored, yet function and most importantly… comfortable!

I have not been reading your blog for very long and it did not take me long to fall in love with your designs. First, congrats on winning the Shabby Apple contest! I love their version of your dress, but I love your original version even more. Second, I can remember reading your post about the split-neck dress and thinking to myself, "If only she could make her designs and sell them, I would totally buy that dress." And now you are thinking of that, and I am super-excited! Good luck with finding manufacturers! I will be waiting patiently for your designs to become available. πŸ™‚

When I first saw your pleated dress, I was wishing there was a way I could get one just like it, so if you're able to sell your own design of the pleated dress, I would definitely get one!!! Shabby Apple's version is lovely too, but I loved your original one even more. And I would also love to have your sailor dress too! Please please sell your designs!!!

Yes, yes, yes, I would buy your designs. Especially if they were made the way you make them. And if you keep petite's in mind during manufacturing! I love everything you've done – flattering, stylish, comfy-looking, modest.
