Anthropologie Inspiration DIY

April 1, 2010~ DIY DREAM HOUSE

I gave this shirt a “makeover” and found the inspiration from a cardigan I saw at Anthropologie.

Before. Got it from Korea for $10.

Then I cut up a turtleneck sweater I had for more than 10+ yrs. for the ruffles.

After.

I just saved $120+ dollars! πŸ™‚

Anthropologie is on my Top 5 list of stores I miss the most from the US. I love your project, and I think that if you ever kick off your line, I'll be a customer. The sweaters and aprons are my favorite part of that store.

By the way, y'all are probably the cutest family I've seen lately! I just want to pinch your girls. πŸ™‚

Wow, thank you so much everybody! I appreciate all your comments very much. πŸ™‚

Mary: You asked me what I do to keep the ruffles from fraying. I used a fabric that had 46% cotton, 37% acrylic, 15% nylon, and 2% spandex and the fabric itself doesn't fray naturally! so I just cut it up and that was it! Hope that helps! πŸ™‚

Julie: you asked for some tips? I'm sorry I didn't do a tutorial. I plan on doing it in the future so I bet you'll be glad to hear that! πŸ™‚ My tip will be to start with a v-neck cardigan and get a fabric that matches the color and the fabric of the cardigan the best. It can either be a new fabric or something u already have. I used a fabric that had 46% cotton, 37% acrylic, nylon, and spandex and it doesn't fray the ruffles. Good luck!
