GIRLS’ TRIP TO CA

December 30, 2016~ YOUTUBE VIDEOS

I went on this trip back in September with my dear friends A-Young and Ramona but just got around to posting it now! We’ve been friends since College and I adore these girls so much. I firmly believe in going on trips for even just a few days like I did with your girlfriends, it is so good for the mama’s soul! I want to go on one every year. We didn’t even do much, we mostly napped, ate a lot of food, talked and laughed a lot. You’ll hear our giggles quiet a bit, it’s most likely Ramona’s, she has the cutest, most contagious laugh.

If time, money and finding someone to watch your kids wasn’t an issue, where would you go on a girls’ trip?

Unboxing of the NEW American Girl Doll Melody & The Seaside Diner

November 11, 2016~ YOUTUBE VIDEOS

Happy Friday! I am soooo excited it’s the weekend, aren’t you? I have two videos for you today, this one is the unboxing of the NEW American Girl doll Melody & The Seaside Diner set. My kids have been begging me to make them these unboxing videos that they see on YouTube for the past 2 years so I finally did one for them haha. Hope you enjoy! And don’t make fun of me that at times I was freaking out and being more excited about it than the kids. I didn’t really have much toys growing up so I am vicariously living through my kids!

*I was not paid to write this post but was given AG merchandise for a feature.

Even though this refashion DIY is like my 142nd, this is my very first video episode of Vintage Refashion! I am trying to make sewing my priority so there will be many more to come and I am trying to grow my YouTube channel, so I’d love for you to subscribe and tell your friends! You can subscribe here: http://youtube.com/sarahtyau

For this episode I bought a XL light yellow dress from The Salvation Army Family Store for $4.99 and turned it into a form fitting waist-tie dress. I feel this is a simple transformation and not an elaborate one, and I chose this because I see many dresses like this at thrift stores and thought it could be more relatable, so that you could do this too, unlike other vintage dresses you find that’s one of a kind. I had a vision of the after within seconds of looking at the dress at the store and it turned out exactly the way I envisioned. I got another epic yellow dress from there that you just have to stay tuned to see in the near future!

I have to thank you for all the support you show me of my sewing projects, the encouraging comments on my blog, Instagram, Facebook, emails, and DM's. They assure me that this is what I need to focus on, to focus on doing my best and not anything else. So thank you!

And I didn’t know this, but did you know that The Salvation Army funds the largest no cost adult rehabilitation program in the U.S? You can show your support by donating gently used clothes, furniture, household appliances and automobiles. They are then resold to the general public, which help fund more than 150 adult rehabilitation centers around the country that help more than 320,000 people each year. Program beneficiaries receive a clean and healthy living environment, work therapy, group and individual counseling, spiritual direction and numerous resources to help them develop life skills and and a personal relationship with God. Say what? So cool!!! I am just a huge nerd that loves these kinds of things – organizations that do good.

LIFE LESSONS #4: HOW TO BE HAPPY AT ANYTIME

August 22, 2016~ YOUTUBE VIDEOS

I feel I have been neglecting my blog more lately. I have been focusing more on my Instagram and Instagram story and feel I update my life fairly often through those channels that I have less desire to update here. And I get good engagement with number of likes and comments on my Instagram which makes it more fun and motivating for me to keep posting on there! As a blogger, I feel I post so much on the internet that sometimes I feel burnt out I guess. I feel like I am just always talking about myself, me me me without getting to know other people more! I dislike this one-sided interaction that I get via blogging.

Anyway, I have my Life Lessons #4 for you guys today, I try to keep the video short but it’s just so hard, I just have so much to say! By the time you are seeing this video, I will be in California on a girls trip for the weekend! So I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I’d love to hear your stories, any thoughts you’d like to add from the video, what is one thing that you say to yourself, “When I get this, when I am this….. I will be happy.” I’d love to hear your stories!

OUR SON’S 3RD BIRTHDAY

August 1, 2016~ YOUTUBE VIDEOS

lastday2 (2) lastday2 (1)

We celebrated our son’s 3rd birthday this past weekend. The day before his birthday, he didn’t nap and went to bed early which caught me off guard when I realized it was his last day as a 2 year old. I walked abruptly to his room and opened the door where he was lying down with Jay, about to go to sleep and I broke down in tears. As I put my face right next to his and kissed him, he immediately put his arm around my face and held me tight. “Today is your last day as a 2 year old… I wanted to take a photo of you today but forgot… Let me give you one last kiss as my two year old little boy…” Which Jay rolled his eyes(because I cry at all my kids birthdays the day before) and left the room and said, “Then why don’t you take a picture of him right now?” So in the dark room with the flash ever so bright, I snapped these last two photos of my boy as a two year old.
