He said his first “I love you.”

January 13, 2015~ Etc.

My son said his very first “I love you” last night as I kissed him good night and told him I loved him. “Wuh boo.” was what he said and my heart was twisting all over the place.  Hoping he would say it again, I told him “I love you!” and he said “Wuh boo!” right back!  He loves me twice.  I love him a million more.

Disney Cruise Alaska day 6

January 9, 2015~ Etc.

So I never completed our Disney Cruise to Alaska trip blog posts, and I just know you guys wondered, “When is Sarah going to post the rest of the Disney Cruise pics?” every single day of your lives, so here it is, don’t fret! 😉

I also realized I mixed up the days a little bit on Disney Cruise day 5 so I updated it if you’d like to take a look.

Our stop on day 6 was in Ketchiken.  Creek Street was built along the shores of Ketchikan Creek, it was built over the water because it was simply too difficult to blast away the rocky hills surrounding the creek.

I look ghostly but the girls gave me flowers every 3 mins. on our walk!

here

then back on the cruise for a formal dinner!

hahaha.  we’re cheap to buy the photo the photographer took so we took a picture of the screen.  Same quality, right? 😉
shh….  we weren’t suppose to take pics at the night show and I didn’t take any the whole week but this was my favorite show, the Toy Story!  I took out my phone and quickly snapped one picture, shh…  They said this play took 3 years in the making.  It was awesome, and the costumes were impressive.

Then we finished the night with a little date, we walked around the cruise, checked out the Disney store,  saw some beautiful artwork, and ordered Mickey bars room service and ate it while sitting in the hallway since the kids were sleeping in the rooms.  The life of a parent!  But I’m not complaining, the Disney Cruise was a dream.

My birthday

January 8, 2015~ Etc.

I had a wonderful birthday last week and here are all the things we did to celebrate!

Jay took me on a date to go eat sushi the night before my birthday.  And he makes this ridiculous face when he doesn’t really want to take pictures.  Which is pretty much all the time haha.

I woke up on my birthday to a breakfast the girls and Jay made for me and my presents.  I told the girls I wanted a card from them and they made me the cutest handmade cards.  One even made me a pop-up card!  Jay bought me an adjustable dress form I’ve been wanting, I am so excited to use it!

Jay invited all my family over for the best meal I’ve ever had of all my favorite foods: smoked salmon, crabs w/ butter, grilled pineapples & corn.  We just got a smoker and I’ve been telling him how I can’t wait to smoke salmon with it and it turned out so delicious.
I am so grateful for my family and for all my friends.  I felt so loved all day and I was feeling so much gratitude the whole day.  I think life gets better as you get older because of the new people you meet and the new friends you make, and your relationship with your old friends strengthens.  The older you get, the more people you love and care for.  My motto is always make friends and never enemies.  And to never hold a grudge or ill feelings towards anyone.  I think there is a direct correlation between how  much love you have in your heart to your happiness.  And of course the opposite is also true, how much hatred or resentment you have in your heart is directly correlated to your unhappiness.  Forming and strengthening relationships is what makes life so beautiful and worth living for.  My 30th year was my favorite year yet and I know my 31th will be even better than the last.  And I am one year wiser!  Woo hoo!  Or let’s hope so anyway. 😉

Our Sunday Best

January 6, 2015~ Etc.

His outfit: cardigan: h&m | pants: gap | moccasins: freshly picked
Her outfit 1: gold skirt: DIY | vest: j.crew | white buttom-up shirt: gap
Her outfit 2: gold skirt: DIY | gingham shirt: h&m
My outfit: skirt & top: DIY | shirt: gap | necklace: j.crew | heels: oasap
I’ll have better pictures of the skirts I made for my girls, but my girls love them so much!  In their eyes I’m the coolest mother ever for making them “a fancy gold jewelry, shiny, sparkly skirt that spins!”  The skirts have hidden pockets and the waistband is this really pretty gold metallic elastic waistband.  And yes, I’m one of those mothers that purposefully match with their children.  I figure I better milk it before they get too cool for their mom and get too embarrassed to match me in public.

Sunday Best

January 3, 2015~ Etc.

Happy new year everyone!  I for one am so glad those sponsored posts galore is over, aren’t you?  Haha, those sponsored posts wore me out and I am so glad that’s over!  I felt like I sold my soul for sponsored posts, it was insane and I didn’t like it one bit!  But I had to do what I had already agreed to do and keep my word because I take giving my word to someone very seriously.  Since then, I turned down 2 sponsored posts I was approached with and I will make sure this blog doesn’t turn into a commercial.  I’ve decided that I will only work with or even apply to work with companies that I already use and love or a product I would fall in love with after reading up on it.  I’ve always done this before but now, I will be even more picky.
So thank you so much for your patience and understanding and forgiving my amateur blogger self when dealing with the business aspect of blogging.  I will always put my readers first over money and that is my promise to you.
I love you all so much!  Once in awhile I am approached by the lovely people who read my blog and I get so flattered and bashful!  But I love meeting you and also emailing with some of you, and visiting your profiles when you comment, so I can get to know you better!  You know, since I talk endlessly about myself on here, I love getting to know more about you.  And remember when I wrote a post about “How to make friends with anyone?”  Well, one reader made me so proud, she commented asking if we could be friends, she used my advice right away!  So we have been emailing and she’s in UT, so we are going to meet and hang out!
Thank you so much for reading and I wish I could meet you all in person.  I hope this year is filled with lots of happiness and peace and it’ll be all of our best year yet!

Love, Sarah
