while daddy was away

March 22, 2010~ Etc.

This was what we did while daddy was gone a few weeks ago.

went to the library.

baths of course.
“Look mommy, I’m TALL!”

Went to McD’s 3 times. All within 5 days. πŸ˜€

made SamGaeTang. An authentic gourmet Korean chicken stew.

and invited my girlfriends over to share!I let Adalie take a lot of pictures. I thought this was the best one. πŸ™‚

made rice krispies treats.

Adalie helping me=which equals to eating a lot of the ingredients. πŸ™‚

remember when I told you Ana would climb up the stairs and then cry/whine for me to bring her back down?

sister bonding time.

ate GIANT chocky sticks.

Adi apparently still in shock at how huge this thing was.

Yep you can say it, I’m so wild and crazy right? But after it all, we were all so glad to have daddy come home. Life is just more fun with him around.

Today was one of those days…

March 19, 2010~ Etc.

Ana had her shots today, Adi didn’t nap today(even after 1 1/2 hrs. of trying) which equals no naps for me which equals three females in one household who are a little cranky, moody and irritable. Not the most pleasant combination. It was one of those days where I wished my mom lived near so I could just drop the kids off and have some alone time for just a little bit. Man, how does Jay deal with all our female hormones? I think I need a son to balance all these crazy hormones out. (now just chill, I meant later down the road n not right now, I know I know it’s already a shocker that Ana turned one without having a mother who’s prego.;)

So I fed them dinner early, and put them to bed. Hey that reminds me of that nursery rhyme:

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe,
She had so many children she didn’t know what to do,
She gave them some broth without any bread;
She whipped them all soundly and put them to bed.

Well in my case it was:

There was a young woman who lived in provo
She had two children under two she didn’t know what to do,
She gave them some broth mixed with white rice
She kissed them all soundly and put them to bed.
She sighed a sigh of relief and ate a piece of chocolate cake!

All true story. And seriously, who says emotional eating is bad for you?

Chinese Irish and Korean Indian

March 18, 2010~ Etc.

Maybe I should’ve gotten Jay this top too because he is apparently part Irish. He had no idea until he got an email from his grandmother about their ancestry at last St. Patrick’s. Who would’ve thought? A Chinese Irish boy!

Speaking of our ancestors, I found out just last year too that my great+++++++ grandmother was a Princess from India! My cousin told me and I was skeptical so I asked my mom and she said to me nonchalantly, “Yeah, you didn’t know?” Well, no one had bothered to tell me! And this whole time I thought I was full Korean! I always wished I was a mix of different ethnicities(because they are beautiful) and turns I got a little Indian in me. πŸ˜€

I guess it’s good we’re finally finding out who we are now.

Thai Chicken

March 16, 2010~ Etc.

Two super easy, super simple reciples. But oh so devine!

Thai Chicken
Chicken drumsticks
Vegetable oil
Sweet chili sauce
Coat the pan with vegetable oil. Lay the drumsticks on the pan, pour the chili sauce over the drumsticks and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Pour a little more chili sauce on the chicken right before serving.
Asparagus
Asparagus
Oilive oil
Salt & pepper
Spread the asparagus on the pan. Pour olive oil over it and mix until the asparagus is coated evenly with the oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste and bake at 375 degrees for 20 mins.

Adi ate THREE drumsticks. THREE! I ate two! And she refused to let us cut up the chicken and was so adamant on holding the whole thing herself. Do you think she liked the Thai Chicken? I wasn’t quiet sure. πŸ˜‰

Girlfriends are Forever

March 15, 2010~ Etc.

I love my girlfriends. I have the best circle of friends who are loyal, kind, giving, funny, smart, spiritual, beautiful and everything in between! We have the best time when we get together and one minute we’ll be laughing, crying, rolling and pounding our fists on the floor(literally. okay just me but still) and one minute we’ll be crying over something sad one another’s going through, I swear we all turn bi-polar when we get together. Most of us have been friends for 8+ years and we love us so much that we always yell out “I love us!” and talk about how lucky we are that we are all so great(haha) and how we have such great friends, and how sad it’ll be when we won’t live near each other anymore.

Well, it suddenly hit all of us last week when we drove up to Salt Lake to get pho’ and boba that after Spring, everything’s going to change. Janie, Jihyei are moving to the East Coast, Gloria’s moving back home, Chelsea moved to Korea, Flora moved to California, A-Young left to France last year, Ginny is in Baltimore, AGHHHHHH everybody’s moving away!!! :'(

I guess it’s a good thing that we’re pursuing our career/family/education dreams and venturing out to the real world but I’m not gonna lie when I say I’m deeply saddened. But this just means we gotta play that much more before everybody moves away and have many road trips. ^ ^
Ginny is basically my sister. I love her! New Year 2010.
