how to modestify a short skirt

July 13, 2010~ Etc.

It seems like many skirts selling at the stores these days are mid-thigh length or shorter. Which is a bummer since I’ll see a cute skirt at the store and gasp with excitement only to find in disappointment that it’s too short. So this is one of two ways I modestify my skirts.

before.
check the hem on the bottom of the dress. is there extra fabric to play with? this one luckily did. see how the hem stitching of the dress is about 3″ above the bottom of the skirt?

unpick the bottom of the dress all the way around.

unfold the extra fabric down.
fold it twice, then hem the bottom of the skirt.
this is what the finished product will look like.
viola! it’s 3″ inches longer now!

FYI: this will not work on all skirts, you’ll have to flip the skirt over and check the hem to see if there’s any extra fabric to lengthen.

4th of July

July 6, 2010~ Etc.

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. We had some family & friends over for a picnic as we waited for the fireworks to start.

if one does something, the other has to do the same.

still bald you ask? yes, yes she is. 🙂

Jay’s steak is the best. honestly.

ana loves to climb things.

no a lion’s not chasing him adi.

she didn’t know what it was at first. but then she loved it and kept clapping, pointing and making sounds the whole time during the fireworks.

then we had friends over for dinner on the 4th and ended the night with watching Date Night and playing Scrabble.

I’m so grateful to be an American! I was born in America but moved to Korea when I was 2 and came back when I was 10 yrs. old so I spent my childhood in Korea but I always considered America my home. I have so much pride in my country and I believe we’re the strongest nation because it is based upon the foundation of God. I’m grateful for the freedom of speech, freedom of religion and my life. I hope everybody had a good 4th!

slow down pretty please?

July 2, 2010~ Etc.

Adi and I look at pictures on my phone everyday during naptime as we’re lying in bed. As I looked at the pictures today it made me wanna cry because time flies by way too fast with kids. They grow up so much in between 0-2 yrs. old in size and milestones, I wish it took them twice the time to get to 2 yrs. old.

adi loves going to church

showing off her cute shoes

why does ana always have food on her face? oh wait it’s because she’s ALWAYS eating!
eating two suckers and quiet happy.
when i nursed ana, adi would lie next to me, take off her shirt and feed her baby too.
at the doctor appt. daddy thought it was funny adi was so scared.
my dimple baby with just two teeth. Now she has more than 10.

my sleeping angel

okay ana doesn’t look much younger in any of these pictures since she’s bald and her head looks the same.:D

you wanna know how I go grocery shopping with 2 kids under 2? I give them an ice cream cone. It keeps them quiet, busy, and happy for the whole hour.

Happy 4th of July weekend!
And the voting for Oprah ends tomorrow! AHHHHHHH!!
