snowman, snow angel, snowball fight!

November 21, 2011~ Etc.

over the weekend we woke up one morning with our girls screaming, “mommy, daddy!  there’s snow outside, come look, come look!!! can we go play in the snow?”  so we bundled them up in their purple snowsuits(which i just call purple marshmallows because i think they look like giant purple marshmallows with it on) and went outside to play in the snow.
it didn’t snow that much so it took most of the snow in our front yard to make the snowman.  and jay somehow tricked the girls into thinking the snowballs they were continually getting hit were thrown by me, so the girls kept throwing snowballs at me and only me!  with jay joining them from behind yelling, “let’s get mom back!”  tsk, tsk, tsk.
but i gotta admit, i did get them back pretty good, especially jay, so it was a fair battle i must say.  and we finished our morning outing with some hot cocoa with lots and lots of marshmallows.  and everyone was a happy soldier.

indoor camping.

November 18, 2011~ Etc.

one of our favorite things to do when it’s cold outside
is to have an indoor camping.
we turn on the fireplace, take out our tent and sleeping bags
and roast marshmallows by the fire.

we roasted the jumbo size marshmallows which is a fun idea
but it just takes too long!  we are not that patient when it comes to
roasting our marshmallows to that perfect, crispy brown. πŸ™‚

glimpses of our family christmas cards.

November 17, 2011~ Etc.

we are planning on sending out christmas cards this year for the first time which is a big deal for us since we’re not the best at sending out cards.  i think we only sent out half of our thank you cards from our wedding, isn’t that terrible?  in case you came to our wedding and you’ve never received a thank you card, just know that we are grateful and we did write one, we just never got around to sending it. πŸ˜‰  so these are just glimpses of what our christmas card will look like.  stay tuned for the real one coming soon!

Altered Couture Magazine.

November 15, 2011~ Etc.

i was told i didn’t look excited enough hence the second take. but this time I just look borderline creepy! πŸ˜‰
you can imagine my surprise when a top-selling, national, fashion magazine managing editor contacted me and asked if one of my DIY tutorial could be featured in the Altered Couture magazine, so just imagine how much more surprised i was when i received the magazine a couple weeks ago and saw my work on the front cover of their november issue!  that was the last thing i was expecting so it was a very pleasant surprise!
the magazine is filled with many, many tutorials and helpful tips.
thank you Stampington & Company for the wonderful opportunity!

h&m and disney on ice.

November 14, 2011~ Etc.

last friday i hung out in salt lake city all day.  first, my friends and i went to the h&m grand opening, and then i met up my husband and the bebes to go see disney on ice, which the girls absolutely loved.  i don’t think i’ve ever seen them clap so hard or intently, which was just about the cutest thing in the world.

if you look at the second to last picture, you’ll see red stains on my husband’s shirt.  it’s because in the middle of the show, our oldest started getting a bloody nose and we didn’t have any tissues.  so my husband started using his shirt!  he would twist the shirt in little, tiny twists and put it in adalie’s nose.  i kept offering to go get some tissues but he just said it was fine, that the shirt was doing the work.  he continued using different parts of his shirt until her nose stopped bleeding while i just looked at him in awe.  i don’t think i would ever do that, unless it was one of my junk t-shirts?  maybe that’s why we’re compatible. πŸ˜‰ and just one more reason why i love him.
and we ended the night with some chipotle for dinner, and talking with my husband endlessly on our drive  home while our girls were deep asleep in their car seats.  it was a completion of my perfect day.
p.s:  there’s been some changes with the romwe giveaway, plus extra entries added so make sure to go enter!
