Daddy’s coming home in just a few hours from his work trip to China and we survived! We persevered through a sick child with a high fever & wanting to be by mommy every moment, my 1st ever bachelorette party of my life that I was so excited about but of course Jay had to leave to China that very day so I had to come home by midnight, canceling my appointment I was so looking forward to because of the sick child, emotionally draining drama, not getting much of any work done, home-wise and work-wise and not getting any alone time. But it makes me appreciate all the things that Jay does for me and the kids and I can’t wait for him to come home!

And we sure look happy in our pictures, don’t we? Prior to this photo, all the kids fought about 4 times and I yelled and they were sent to their room. Then we all made up by having an indoor picnic, Mcdonald’s style.

I also visited my friend who had a baby recently and these items have been my go-to gifts for my friends.

  • Baby moccasins. Look how tiny!!!
  • Hand sanitizer. I always keep one in my purse. So essential for this time of the year especially, with so much sickness going around.
  • DESITIN® rapid relief diaper rash cream. Glides on smoothly, works fast, and is gentle enough to use after each diaper rash.
  • Teething necklace! I am a believer of teething amber necklaces, they help so much with the drooling and my babies were less fussy wearing them.

What are some of your favorite things to gift to your new mommy friends?

RECENT SWEET-NOTHINGS FROM MY SON

January 10, 2017~ Etc.

My oldest secretly wore her poop emoji hat for this family picture. Just perfect, just so great. 😀

My son is the biggest heart-melter. Here are some things he’s done or said to me lately.

“I asked Santa for a present and he gave me YOU!!!”

“I always love you even when I’m mad at you.”

Every time I ask him, “Do I kiss you too much?” He says, “No?!” with a tone, of course not, why are you even asking me that? So I ask him, “Do I kiss you just right?” and he says, “Uh huh!”

Yesterday we went and got ice-cream for family night dessert. He would get a scoop of the brownies and feed it to me, break off a waffle cone and feed it to me, and he would take a sip of water and hand it to me to make sure I got a sip of water too.

Whenever daddy comes and tackles and tickles me and I scream, he gets SO mad and comes running to me immediately to rescue me. He hits his dad and gets violent which is pretty funny because he’s really strong for just being 3 and Jay is even scared of his strength!

When Jay comes and cuddles me or kisses me, our son always wedges in between us and says, “No, mommy can only kiss me!”

Oh, be still my heart!

Also, I have not been updating on my blog or Instagram and have been ignoring my emails and anything work related. I need to be working on my YouTube videos, yikes! I have been so emotionally drained because of some family matters and it’s been taking a lot of time and has been taking a toll on me. But life must go on and I am now playing catch up! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a new year!

In almost 10 years of our marriage, we’ve only sent Christmas cards once, which was about 5 years ago. So this year is our second time but we want to send one each year from now on, they’re so much fun! We love receiving cards from family and friends and hanging it on our wall, so we thought we’d start participating too. So if you didn’t get one, here is on e-card for you! We hope you have a wonderful time this year with your loved ones and may 2017 be filled with love, happiness and light!

We’ve received so many compliments on our Christmas cards, they are from Minted! Even Jay said, “These are the nicest Christmas cards I’ve seen.” They were thick(the envelopes too), very high-quality, and the rose gold foil writing is my favorite. I’d definitely recommend using them for your Christmas cards. Thank you Minted for providing me with these cards!

EVEN SWEETER THAN CANDY

December 21, 2016~ Etc.

Moments after I was feeling the mom guilt for realizing I haven’t taken my son out to any fun things but stayed home all this week, my 3 yr. old said to me, “Isn’t life great?”, “You are my BIG macaroni!”, “This is the best life!” while we were simply talking & eating macaroni & cheese together.

Just yesterday I picked him and his friend up from school. His friend was telling me about their Christmas party and how the cookie he ate was warm and yummy. My boy quickly chimed in and said excitedly, “But mommy? You are the best kind of wooommm(warm)!”

He honestly can’t be any sweeter.

HOW TO MAKE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME EASIER ON OUR BODIES

how cute is my oldest child when she was a baby?

Spring Forward and Fall Back. I don’t think I’ve met one person that likes Daylight Savings Time, have you? It’s especially tough with families with young kids and it’s a struggle in our family. So I have read numerous articles and narrowed it down to the best tips I’ve found on how to ease into Daylight Savings Time so the change isn’t so dramatic.

HOW TO MAKE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME EASIER ON OUR BODIES
  1. Set your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier and earlier for 5 days or so. When the time change hits, you’re already there. It’s the same advice for people who are traveling out the country as well. daylight-savings is much like jet lag, the older you are, the more difficulty you will have.
  2. The day before on Saturday, get some vigorous exercise around midday. Exercise helps advance the body clock, just as bright light exposure does. But don’t exercise too late in the day.
  3. On Sunday morning, get up at your regular time, whether you had a good night’s sleep or not. If you stay in bed, your body will never adjust.
  4. Spend an hour or more outside, preferably in the sunshine. Sunlight is especially helpful in advancing your body block.
  5. Take a morning walk on Sunday. After a short night, walking is an easy exercise that will help advance your body clock.
  6. For the next two weeks, exercise 30-40 mins. in bright light before 5 p.m. Eat at least 3-5 hours before bedtime. Don’t drink caffeinated beverages after noon. Don’t do any computer work during the hour before bedtime, Relax instead by reading, listening to music or watching TV.

Good “sleep hygiene” also helps:

  • Don’t eat a heavy meal before bedtime.
  • Don’t drink a lot of caffeine or alcohol.
  • Don’t nap during the day, or at least keep it brief — 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Stop working on any task an hour before bedtime to calm down.
  • Don’t discuss emotional issues at bedtime.
  • Make sure your sleep environment is comfortable.
  • Don’t turn lights on at night. Use a small night-light instead.
