h&m and disney on ice.

November 14, 2011~ Etc.

last friday i hung out in salt lake city all day.  first, my friends and i went to the h&m grand opening, and then i met up my husband and the bebes to go see disney on ice, which the girls absolutely loved.  i don’t think i’ve ever seen them clap so hard or intently, which was just about the cutest thing in the world.

if you look at the second to last picture, you’ll see red stains on my husband’s shirt.  it’s because in the middle of the show, our oldest started getting a bloody nose and we didn’t have any tissues.  so my husband started using his shirt!  he would twist the shirt in little, tiny twists and put it in adalie’s nose.  i kept offering to go get some tissues but he just said it was fine, that the shirt was doing the work.  he continued using different parts of his shirt until her nose stopped bleeding while i just looked at him in awe.  i don’t think i would ever do that, unless it was one of my junk t-shirts?  maybe that’s why we’re compatible. 😉 and just one more reason why i love him.
and we ended the night with some chipotle for dinner, and talking with my husband endlessly on our drive  home while our girls were deep asleep in their car seats.  it was a completion of my perfect day.

raspberry picking.

October 6, 2011~ Etc.

we went to an orchard to pick some raspberries so i can make raspberry jam
and to eat it fresh of course.  our girls loved it because as you pick them youself,
you could eat as many as you want.  okay, okay, i loved it too,
i was hungry when we went but by the time we were finished,
i was so full of raspberries.  man, i was one happy girl!

it was so beautiful there and there’s something about being so close in nature
and hand picking fresh fruits(because you can hand pick not-fresh fruits;)
that makes you more grounded and helps to realign your priorities in life.
and on our drive home, my husband and i talked excitedly
about living in a 40 acre land one day and owning an orchard full of raspberries,
blackberries, strawberries, cherries, grapes, and whatever else we could dream of.
my husband also wants to own an animal farm but are you kidding me?
there is NO way i will wake up at 3 in the morning to feed some chickens,
and milk the cows!  i’m not a city girl but i’m not a country girl either.
but a fruit farm?  i think i can live with that. 😉
