achille’s first encounter with snow.
christmas part one.
meet our newest addition.
on christmas eve, my husband and i anxiously drove to the airport to pick up our newest addition to the family. we were suppose to pick him up the day before christmas eve, but due to southwest cancelling all their pet travels the day of his flight until january, the best our breeder could do was to buy him a ticket from delta with a connecting flight in between. but our pup missed his connecting flight so he had to stay overnight and fly to utah the next morning. so you can guess just how anxious and eager we were to meet this little guy! and me hissing, “they better take him to a high-class dog hotel in minnesota and give him the VIP treatment!” about 20 times throughout the night while reading the book, “how to raise the perfect puppy” written by the dog whisperer guy.
and after we arrived at the airport and waited for 40 mins., an agent finally brought him out in his crate. and as soon as we laid our eyes on him, our hearts completely melted. he is perfect.
we made sure to use the “no talk, no touch, no eye contact” rule and let him smell us first and have him go in the car and in his crate on his own and not force him in it by using a treat. he behaved perfectly- calm, curious, playful, and fell asleep within a few minutes of being in the car! he is so sweet. let’s just pray we will train him correctly.
oh, we’re so going to be one of those dog lovers who put their dogs in their family christmas cards and throw them little birthday parties. and we’re completely okay with that. π
and you’ll be seeing a lot of pictures of him from now on. i hope you’re okay with that.
…..like starting now.
