made kimchi with my mom
Jay and his bff made some sugar cookies…
(my mommy said if you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all so….)
went to the biggest playground in UT(wild west jordan playground)
we did Insanity(I did the first 5 mins, then plopped on the couch)
and Adi was the ONLY one who finished the whole thing! I was so impressed!
we drove to salt lake despite the snowy road to go to a huge Asian market
and so that Jay’s bff could try out a pho’ & boba place we love.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

is it weird that i got giddy reading this? see, i live in rexburg. NO DIVERSITY. i have been DYING for some kind of asian grocery store or market. i'm always texting my brother "i'm craving asian ____." and he always laughs at my lack of asian food. my husband and i are going to slc for christmas, and this post made me realize that i can just fill up on all my favorite asian foods while i'm down there. i can't wait!!
so, thanks for the realization π

Please post a kimchi recipe. We love it. Wanna make it. Especially hubby. Thanks for sharing! π

The kimchi pic brings me back to the good old days! Did your parents sit on the floor of the kitchen to make it?! My mom and grandma always sat on the floor with plastic food gloves on. I sat next to them in hopes of getting a taste…somewhat successfully!
Love the blog, how cute are your kids!

I've got to say, I would be so offended if my husband posted online how I suck at something. I once heard a great speaker say you can tell the health of a marriage buy how the spouses speak of each other. I think that's true and I would never put my husband down to others. For what it's worth, that stuck with me.

There are many Asian markets here in UT! π And I feel like that sometimes, not with asian markets but with asian food in general. I wish they had more here because I'm always craving it. π

Here's a recipe I posted awhile ago. π

My mom did! And it would take her all day, it is certainly made with lots of TLC! And yes, I loved tasting it when my mom would put the red sauce on top of a fresh cabbage and roll it and feed it to me! Thanks for your comment and for reading my blog!

Oh no! I hope people won't feel inclined to judge our relationship based on this one post! then yes, we're screwed! π
You do have a valid point however, and that saying is true. Every relationship is different and ours is where there's a lot of complimenting but also a lot of teasing, sarcasm and flirting involved. We are both very confident in our relationship and with ourselves and we find it hilarious when things like this happen. He's an excellent cook, which I've posted many times in the past, and this one accident I thought was so endearing and adorable, and that's why I posted it. If it was something my husband would really be offended about, or had a personality that would take it seriously and offensive, I would never post it, and vice versa. He teases me sometimes with my mistakes and I find it hilarious and fun! We know we love & respect each other deeply and we think our "little oop's" in our lives make our lives more fun.
And if people feel like judging our relationship based on a single post written with a sense of humor, I guess there's nothing we can do about it, and honestly, we don't care. π
I appreciate your honesty though and thank you for sharing your thoughts!

i agree with you. those sugar cookies could use some work, but considering how awesome he is from the remodeling photos back when, i think you're in good hands.

Where is the Pho place?! I want to go π
Steph says
I second Andrea's comment. Where is that pho place in salt lake AND where is that huge Asian supermarket?
The Park Family says
Yes where is the huge Asian supermarket? My handsome Korean hubby makes THE BEST kimchi and korean food in general….much better than the restaurants here in UT county. But, we have to wait for Oma to bring us supplies from CA or go to the small store on State Street in Orem. So any tips on yummy restaurants or stores in SLC is much appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for a late reply, I totally forgot to reply. The pho place is called the Gossip. It's on or near 3500 south in SLC.
Sarah says
Oh forgot to mention, their beef pho isn't the best, but get the house malony soup with pho noodles. You got to request the pho noodles instead. It's the best seafood pho in UT!

The Asian market is Ocean Market in SLC.

You're lucky! The Asian market is Ocean Market in SLC.

Also, I know there are a few Korean markets in salt lake. You should look into them! I don't know their names but I'm sure you can google it to find out? The ocean market is generally Chinese food.
