Bachelor viewing party @ThanksPoint

January 15, 2014~ Etc.

My friend Natalie and I attended the Bachelor viewing party at Thanksgiving Point last night.  The episode yesterday aired the electric run @ Thanksgiving point so they had a party with glow sticks, giveaways, dance offs, oh and you know, Jef Holm and Brooks Forester & Michelle Money.  Natalie and I sat on the same row as them!
Brooks and jef participating in the dance off.
thanks, photo bomber.  this was a very serious moment for us, how dare you!
Brooks, I’m flattered but I cannot accept your rose, I’m married!
I accepted Natalie’s rose however.  Jay, I hope that’s okay with you.
Brooks and Jef were so kind and we had so much fun.  I told Jay about it when I got home and I got a text from him this morning saying, “You told me you’d rather have a gift card than a rose but you let some other guy give you a rose… :(” among some other things he said I should have done instead that’s not G-rated.  I had to reassure him that he’d be the only guy I’d ever accept a rose from.   Hahaha, can you tell who’s the more sensitive one in the relationship?

His & Hers Sunday Best

January 13, 2014~ Etc.

His: shirt & skinny tie & pants: h&m
Hers: sequin cardigan: anthropologie | dress: oasap
My boy is growing so fast.  He is only 5 months old but he wears 12-18 month old clothes!  All my kids have been over 95 percentile on their height since they were born so they’ve always looked older than their age, which makes me really really sad since it makes it seem like they’re growing up way faster than they already are.  I guess it’s a happy worry that they’re growing up so tall and healthy, but I wish they were smaller than their age so it seems like they’re not growing up as fast!

Christmas 2013

January 10, 2014~ Etc.

Our Christmas morning started not too early this year, unlike last year when the girls woke us up in the wee hours in the morning.  The girls woke up super early but Jay had them wait until 8 am so that I could sleep a little with the baby, especially since I was feeling pretty sick.  Then he came and gently woke me up, telling me the girls could not wait any longer and their anticipation was making them crazy.
the girls got one present from Santa which was a dollhouse.  it was suppose to be all assembled and painted and ready for them on Christmas morning, but you know, it didn’t happen.
Aiden got some teething toys for Christmas but all he cared about was breastfeeding since he had just woken up and was hungry.
Achilles got a huge chunk of meat as his Christmas present!
we spent the rest of the day cooking for Christmas lunch with my sister and her family and then for Christmas dinner with  my aunt and uncle and my cousins.
and the boys thought it’d be funny to make ridiculous faces for pictures.
my outfit: green coat c/o | plaid peplum top c/o | necklace | jeans | red rain boots
I want Christmas in our family to emphasize on Jesus Christ, love, and service, and not about receiving presents so I told Jay we could only get them one present.  He had a hard time with that since he absolutely loves giving presents, but with presents from both sides of their grandparents, aunts & uncles and cousins and friends, it’s already too many presents!  Next year, we are not getting any presents for the family but will buy toys and other things for an orphanage, and have our family& friends buy things for the orphanage as well instead of giving us presents.  It’s something I had planned to do since I was 16, to make it our family tradition every 4 years when I have a future family.  I’m still trying to convince Jay to agree with me, so follow up with us in a year. πŸ˜‰

Glam Lumberjack Jam

January 8, 2014~ Etc.

I went to a dance party hosted by Susan Peterson, the owner of Freshly Picked.  The theme was Lumberjack Glam and it was for all the mamas that wanted to dance their ax off!  Over 300+ mamas came to shake it and it was so much fun.  It’s funny how I never go to dance parties now since I’m married with 3 kids, but I went to two dance parties in one month!  I’m so wild and crazy, I know.  I think being a mom is very isolating at times and you don’t get much adult interaction, so I think it’s great they are starting to have parties for us moms.

I danced my ax off so hard it was hurtin’ the next morning! πŸ™‚

My Birthday

January 6, 2014~ Etc.

I am 30 years old! I might be one of the few who was actually looking forward to turning 30, and it feels great!  I got to sleep in and when I woke up, I found these two posts on Jay’s Instagram.  The second one is of him singing.  I laughed so hard watching him sing and I knew it was going to be a wonderful birthday.

We started my birthday at Magleby’s Fresh with my favorite french toast with my sister and her family, before they went back to California.
then we went to the ice castles in Midway because I wanted to do something fun for the girls and knew they would love it since it’s like an ice castle from Frozen.  It was really cold so I put Aiden in Jay’s big coat, inside the baby carrier, inside his pram, inside his sweater onesie, inside his long sleeve onesie & two pairs of socks.  He was warm apparently because he slept the whole time.
picture take one
picture take two.  that’s better!
one of our girls yelled out, “It’s the best day ever!”
I told the girls, “I look like Oloft from Frozen!” and my daughter said to me, “No, you look like Oloft AFTER he rolled down the hill and was a HUGE snow man!”  Thanks Adi, thanks,
then we went to the Sora Restaurant to get pho’ and pad thai, two of my favorite foods!
sweater | pants | rain boots
Then after we put the kids to bed, we watched a movie to finish the night.  Thanks for a great birthday, Jay! Even though I didn’t celebrate your 30th birthday… πŸ™
