Our Family’s Sunday Best

December 14, 2015~ Etc.

After 10 mins. of coaxing, begging and fluttering my eyelashes at my husband, he has agreed to do a family photo every Sunday! This is a miracle, guys! Even though he looks like, “What the heck I just get myself into?” but I’ll take what I can get! This is our 1st family Sunday best, it’s blurry, I wasn’t going to make the kids pose outside in the freezing cold weather for a sake of a picture, so a mirror selfie it is!

I’ll be posting our family Sunday best on my Instagram, so make sure to follow me there if you’d like to see our Sunday photos. 😉

My Son's Sunday Best

December 9, 2015~ Etc.

As a mom to a 2 year old who is still in diapers, I am open to trying out different brands of diapers. I’ll be sharing with you the new and improved Member’s Mark Comfort Care Baby Diapers!
My son was so willing to take photos for me because I promised him an ice-cream bar afterwards. And he insisted he get on the top of the table to take the photos. This 2 year old is the sweetest boy and so caring, but he is one stubborn, strong-headed child! He hasn’t been taking the answer no very well lately, and I am sure it’s the two year old normal problems, but I’ve been needing to pray for more patience lately, more so than ever. But his sweet, sensitive disposition melts my heart everyday and I realize I am so lucky to be able to hang out with this guy every single day, all day. A few days ago I was scooping up ice-cream for my 3 kids and I gave him an ice-cream first, then my two daughters and as I was scooping up the 3rd ice-cream cone, he came up to me and while tapping my waist gently said, “Honey? Honey? Would you like some ice-cream too?” Whenever Jay tackles me and tickles me and I scream out for him to come help me, he stops whatever he’s doing, starts screaming this scary scream with a matching scary face in hopes that daddy would get intimidated and runs to me and blocks me from his daddy.  When I sigh out of exhaustion, he says to me, “Mommy? What’s wrong?”, if I am not smiling he asks me, “Mommy, are you happy?” and when Jay comes home from work he asks him, “Daddy, how was work? How was your day?” It is the cutest thing that melts me and Jay’s heart. He is always watching out for his mama and the rest of the family and I know he was a special spirit who’s been sent down to us as a gift.
My son’s wearing the Member’s Mark Comfort Care Baby Diapers with this outfit, which is their new and improved design, which I can’t claim to know since this is my first time using their diapers. But they promise a silky soft care for your baby’s delicate skin with their SilkSpun™ outer cover that nestles your baby in softness and the breathable design helps keep their bottoms cool and dry. They also say you can count on up to 12 hours of leakage protection with their flexible leg gathers and Soft-Stretch® waist and sides that lets your baby move freely and help prevent leaks. If you are not 100% satisfied, they guarantee your money back which I think is cool, I am not sure if other diaper brands promise the same guarantee? Maybe they do, I do not know. These diapers are exclusively available at Sam’s Club in sizes 1 through 6.

Instagram Husband

December 9, 2015~ Etc.

Have you guys seen this video? If you haven’t, you need to watch it, it is hilarious! Several months ago my friend and I talked about making a video making fun of bloggers and these guys beat us to it!
Instagram husband? What’s that? This is the face he gave me as soon as I held my phone up to take a photo. You think he was just playing & stopped soon after to allow me to take a “picture perfect” photo? Nope, he kept giving me this face as long as I held my phone in front of them.😓 He’s the opposite of an Instagram husband and would never let me turn into those girls, nor would I dare to pull any of those moves on him, for the fear and the endless wrath of his mockery. So where are all my wives of the anti-Instagram husbands?🙋🏻
Fortunately, I have a husband who keeps me grounded and only takes 2 pictures at a time and I can only ask him to take photos maybe in 2 settings max when we go somewhere. Sometimes I wish he was more like these Instagram husbands who put up with their wives! He does not wait until I take pictures of the food, for more than literally 10 seconds, after I ask him for the second time to take a picture for me at any given day, he’ll say, “Okay, this is the last one I take, then you gotta put your camera away.” He’d laugh at me so hard if I stood on the chair to take food photos or ran around with my flag, that I don’t dare ever try to take photos like that! Haha. But I think those Instagram husbands are great and I still think my husband is pretty great too. Thanks for keeping me grounded, hun!

Christmas Kickoff Party

December 7, 2015~ Etc.

We started a new family tradition(thanks to Eden for the inspiration), which is to have a Christmas kickoff party! We get out our Christmas tree and decorate while listening/dancing to Christmas classics, then read Luke 2 together about the birth of Jesus and then eat fresh out of the oven homemade cookies & milk.
The kids have accidentally hurt me pretty bad the past two days; hitting my eye with a stick, jump roping and smacking my face, leaving cupboards open, causing a bruise on my nose, and then tonight as we were decorating the tree, one of the kids was swinging a flashlight and smacked it hard right on the back on my head. I got angry and said, “My goodness, why do you guys keep hurting me lately? It hurts so bad! You need to be more aware of other people in your surroundings, it’s not just you that live in this world, the world does NOT revolve around you. Be considerate of other people!” Right when I was done talking, my 8 yr, old daughter says to me, “Wow, mom, wow. What a JOLLY Christmas.”
I was still angry but it melted as I realized how I was so excited to start this happy Christmas tradition and here I am yelling and lecturing at my kids, ruining the Christmas spirit. I started to laugh and then we all did and we made up with kisses and hugs and it indeed ended up being a JOLLY Christmas after all.
p.s. my son was not happy we wouldn’t let him eat the cookie he snatched until the end. haha
p.p.s. I want to post more about family on my blog. So expect more family posts from me!

Girls Night Out at Trolley Square

December 3, 2015~ Etc.

Trolley Square was so kind to invite me to a dinner at Rodizio Grill & then sent us on a shopping spree(with a $200 giftcard. I am telling you because I always wonder about stuff like this when other people are all secretive and mysterious about it, haha ;). I went last year and it’s an event I look forward to every year. You are going to feed me and give me money to go shopping? I’m in! 😀 I shopped at Williams & Sonoma(I got a giftcard to buy a breadmaker, yay!, went inside Pottery Barn Kids and drooled at everything but couldn’t get myself to buy anything, bought each of my kids fun toys at Cabin Fever, and bought this awesome licorice face soap at Cosset Bath & Body(I bought the soap last year and it’s lasted all this time!) for me and for my mom. I love that they have stores that none of the other malls offer here in UT.

I meant to put makeup in the car on my way but we were running late due to traffic(and I drove), so I went sans makeup. Moms life, right? You just don’t have the time to do it all. That’s one thing I’m learning and adjusting to, as a mother to 3 kids and as a blogger/shop owner, which is you just can never have it all, all at once. But that is okay! There is always time to do things that are the most important in your life, so it comes down to prioritizing. It’s the endless cycle of trying to find balance!

And if you live in UT or are visiting UT for the Holidays, there’s an awesome giveaway going on right now where each week, Trolley Square is giving away a $100 gift card. All you have to do to enter is take a picture at Trolley Square and include #mytrolleysquare in the caption. This can be on either Instagram or Facebook.

P.S. I am also going on a rant on my Instagram, if you’d like to come join me. ;D

I got this jumpsuit on sale for $23 guys! Purchase it here.
