Adalie at her most concentrated moment

February 20, 2009~ Etc.

She’s got quiet the patience and some stacking skills I must say.

The last video I’m saying, “Adalie! Be cute!” and she tilts her cute head to the side and points her finger to her cheek while giving a smile. šŸ™‚

Happy weekend everyone!

What bubble?

February 18, 2009~ Etc.

These are pictures from a puppet show at the library. Adalie is very friendly and loves to invade other people’s bubbles. She tried to hold hands with a little girl, patted and brushed the blonde hair of a little boy, gave her own coloring paper she got to another little boy while she being the one saying, “thank you”, holding her arms straight up to a complete mommy stranger to be held(the mom did pick her up and hold her haha), and side-busting on a mom reading a book to her baby and pointing and talking to them about the book they’re reading, just to name a few. How can anyone get enough of her, she is just so darn cute!!!

rambles

February 16, 2009~ Etc.

I miss my family a lot. I have been so bad at keeping in touch with my siblings and calling them frequently to see how they’re doing. I’m just bad at answering my cell phone period, I never seem to have the phone with me since I’m so busy holding Adalie or taking care of her or doing household chores so it’s usually stuck in a corner until I actually need to use the phone.

So my goal is to call the people I love more often. It doesn’t need to be long, for I usually cannot talk on the phone for a long time being a mommy and all, but just to see how they’re doing and what they’ve been up to.

Sometimes life takes you on a constant whim of daily tasks, chores and to-do lists that you forget what really matters at the end of the day. Sometimes I get so caught up in doing chores that I get annoyed when Adalie wants my attention and wants to play with me every 5 mins. but I have to remember that being a mother to her first is more important than folding laudry. So even though it might take(and it always does) a lot longer to get the job done, I’m getting the most important job done along with it, which is making sure my daughter smiles, laughs and feels loved by me. It’s amazing being a mother because you are forced to push all your needs and wants aside to accomodate another human being first. Everything I do is catered around her needs, wants and schedule instead of when I wasn’t a parent, I did everything I wanted to according to my own time and desire. I believe that God gives us families for a specific reason and that big reason is to shape and mold the parents the way God wants and intends us to be. And boy, I honestly cannot think of any other tasks or missions in life other than parenthood that will shape you and mold you as much. Before I got married, serving a LDS mission was the hardest thing I have ever done and I couldn’t imagine anything harder but being a mother has been a lot harder in so many ways. But I believe greater the cause, the greater the effort it requires. And I wouldn’t want any other job in this whole world. Adalie is my light.

Anywho those are my thoughts for the day. haha didn’t mean to get so serious. šŸ˜€

My Birthday

February 4, 2009~ Etc.

My birthday was on Jan.4th and I woke up to breakfast, 25 beautiful roses(every rose for every year, crap now you all know how old I am!) and a picture of Jay and I with a poem printed on it. The poem is incredibly sweet and written by Jay and I read it from time to time and it makes me teary eyed no matter how many times I read it. He is an excellent writer and a sincere, heart-felt poem was all I wanted for my special day. Then later that night we had friends over for cake and ice-cream.

Poor Adalie…she was really sick that whole week. You would never tell by her happy face in this picture.
Adalie would get on the toy car and point at Nolan to get on too.
My little family. Soon it’ll be four of us.

With family.

Plus a girlfriend. šŸ˜‰

This was the ONLY time Adalie laughed, when kicking a ball with uncle Colby.

With my beautiful girlfriends.

Thanks for a great birthday Jay! I love you.
