Oh The Bachelor

January 27, 2010~ Etc.

Tenley

Gia

Ali
Vienna

Today I did feel a little guilty that I watched The Bachelor during the day with my kids. I never watch my tivo’ed shows until at night when the kids are asleep but it was today when I suddenly realized The Bachelor was on on Monday and it had been sitting in my Tivo for 2 days without me even realizing! I told myself I would watch it tonight since Jay had paintball too but I just couldn’t resist! I LOVE LOVE that show!!! I just love watching two people fall in love and being there from the first time they meet to their first kiss, falling in love, watching the sparkles in their eyes, seeing them get butterflies, haha I’m such a nerd I know and a hopeless romantic at that. It makes me so happy to see other people be in love like Jay and I are because it’s the greatest thing ever and I want everybody to feel it! I think that’s why I love attempting to set people up and try to play cupid(notice the words attempt and try. yeah it hasn’t worked yet. πŸ™ and Jay always laughs at it but oh man it’ll be like my dream come true to have two people I set up actually get married!!!

Anywho I think Tenley will be the last one standing, I can just see the spark between them and feel the chemistry they have for each other. At first I liked Ali the best but she’s always talking about how much she hates Vienna and it made me lose a little respect for her because if she’s so caught up with that, it shows a lot about her character. I think Gia is the prettiest but I just don’t feel like they’ll be a good match. But I think she is so gorgeous. Was anyone else shocked that he let two women go at the rose ceremony? And that Vienna received the last rose? No one likes Vienna and I haven’t really seen any reasons to not like her but if what all the other women were saying were true, then yeah she must be a spoiled, ungrateful, selfish brat. I guess her dad spoils her a ton with materialistic things and things are just given to her and no wonder why she’s the way she is!

I feel very very strongly about raising kids in the right way and not spoiling them. Every single person I admire and respect have been raised by parents who aren’t rich and just gives their kids a brand new car or other fancy things. I always admire in awe whenever I hear about parents who are really rich but makes sure their kids learn to work really hard, to earn what they want, and to be humble and grateful. Like we just had a couple over for dinner the other day and the guy gives basketball lessons to the sons of the owner of Nu Skin, Blake Roney. And he said while their cousins are really spoiled and bratty, these kids are so humble and never brags about how rich they are. They own their own Island(yeah it’s very common I know) and when our friend asked the daughter about it, I guess she wasn’t boastful at all but actually a little embarrassed and shy to tell him about it and it took him a few tries to actually get her to tell him it was their own Island. How respectful is that? I once met a lady with a 4 yr. old girl and she told me, “My little girl has gotten every single thing she’s ever wanted. I make sure to buy her everything she wants because I never want her to feel what it’s like to not get what you want.” ARE YOU FREAKIN’ KIDDING ME? I really don’t understand these people, anybody with some logic and wisdom knows it’s not good to give them everything they want. You’re not doing your kids any good, you’re making them into a horrible person! What’s going to happen when the little girl is older and goes into the real world and people don’t cater to her every want and need? That’s just a recipe for a selfish, spoiled, materialistic, a pain in the butt brat. I just feel bad for her and the other people that will have to deal with her because she’ll grow up not getting along with them because of her self-centeredness and selfishness. No matter how rich I get and even if I can afford to buy my daughters everything they want, I’m going to make sure to say no even if they’ll get really mad and sad, and to raise them with good work ethic and let them know money doesn’t measure the person’s worth or value by any means but their inner qualities instead. I’ve already told Jay that I will never buy our kids a brand new car, but a used car AFTER they work for a little bit and save some money for the car(just like $500, I know how hard it is to save when you’re 16.) like a year after they turn 16. I also want to do the 50/50 thing that my parents did where if I want to buy something, I had to earn half of it. These things I feel so strongly about because I’m going to make sure our daughters turn out to be a respectful, humble, selfless, giving, caring, sensitive, compassionate, grateful, and hard working women so they can be an asset to every person they associate with.

Wow, what a tangent right? πŸ˜‰

Ward Basketball…Jay vs. the Koreans

January 27, 2010~ Etc.

Jay was excited for this game all week because he knew his team would be playing the Korean ward. He asked me about 8 times if I could cheer for him really loud speaking ONLY Korean so that all the other Korean guys would get jealous. I was like what, jealous that a Korean wife with two kids and a metal-face is cheering for you? (and yes I got braces like 2 weeks ago. Only on the bottom for now, the top in about 2 months) Therefore my smile is all awkward, I hate taking pictures because I look so retarded! I haven’t achieved the art of smiling normal with my braces on just yet. Blah. Jay loves it because I don’t take as many pictures. And call me paranoid but I’ve talked to many people that’s had braces and they told me they got narrower smile, lost their fat on their cheeks and got sunken cheeks that makes you look older, their jawline changed for the worse, etc. I even googled it and found a ton! I don’t care if Jay thinks it’s silly, it’s true! So basically I’m scared I’ll get uglier. Oh well, I’m over it now. I already got it so it’s no use worrying. It will help me to focus on my inner beauty instead. haha.

Anywho our ward basketball team has been undefeated this season which has NEVER happened in the history of our ward so our Bishop even gave Jay and this other guy a shout out during sacrament. (They’re the B-ball coach for the ward).

And Jay and the team ended up beating the Koreans like 68-42 or something like that. That’s my non-Korean husband whoop whoop! ;D
