best.chocolate.ever.

May 3, 2011~ Etc.

when i first tasted cadbury’s chocolate eggs,
i thought i found the best chocolate in the world.
this is even better.
milk chocolate coconut macadamia balls.  it has white chocolate, coconut, & sweet and salty coated macadamias in the middle.  divine.
well, you can only get them in Hawaii and it’s not cheap but jay’s mom sends it to us once in awhile so you can imagine how precious it is to me and jay when we receive it.  we actually go back and forth trying to hide it from each other so we wouldn’t have to share.  we don’t even share it with the kids because hey! to them, chocolate is chocolate, they don’t appreciate the differences of high quality chocolates! so when we got the package and being the selfless, good wifey and a mother that i am, i quickly hid it in the best place i could think of so i could eat it all by myself.
well, jay apparently knew already that mom was sending the package with the chocolates so when he got home and i was off to the grocery store, he tried to find it.  but not for long.  the very first place he looked at, there it was.  the very first place, mind you! argh.
so when i got home, he asked me where it was.  i said i was never going to tell and he kept begging.  so i told him i would give him one, and opened up the secret hiding drawer where the golden chocolates were hidden.  but this is what i found instead. 🙁
while jay was rolling on the floor laughing.
i guess after almost 4 yrs. of marriage, he knows me a little bit too much.
even to know where i would hide something on his very first try.
i need to find better hiding spots.
and last 2 days to vote for me for top 25 moms with style, and i got pushed back to rank 13! 🙁 and 13 is an unlucky number in my culture so please help me to get to at least rank 12th.  thank you!

staycation

May 2, 2011~ Etc.

and i wanted to thank each one of you for your sweet, encouraging words on my last sappy post.  i think i have the most sweet, caring, thoughtful readers and i’m so grateful for you.  it’s still painful for me to watch but i believe you were being honest and it made me feel soooo much better about the whole experience! so thank you, it meant a lot to me.
this past weekend, we went on a staycation.
we had to start the trip with some chipotle steak burritos~♥
went to tracy aviary
the girls loved the peacock
movie & popcorn.  and chili cheese fries for me hehe.
it was our 1st time going to a movie theater with the whole family and the girls were so good!
and Rio was a really cute movie too.
in our hotel room doing our “hotel rituals”
we were watching clips of willian & kate’s wedding and adi comes to me and asks me to put the blanket over her head because she “wanted to be a princess who gets married too.”  don’t you just love her pose?
and we wake up to this.  i wish i was joking.
the hotel had a cool little water park
{spicy tofu soup}
met with jasmine and bobby for some korean food
went to the park city outlet to do some shopping!
and drove back to our
home sweet home.

easter

April 27, 2011~ Etc.

have you seen the show Dresscue Me? i think the lady and i are soulmates.  she buys vintage clothing and updates it and sells it at her store.  their episode was on tonight and look what she does to a pleated dress! she makes it into a bat wings top.(go to 45 secs.)  i’m desperately in need of a pleated skirt with an elastic waist for a t.v segment i’m doing tomorrow(and that’s all i’m gonna tell you in case i completely make a fool of myself) and i ordered one on etsy and when i got it and looked at it, i was so disappointed that it was an accordion skirt instead of a pleated skirt! and i’ve looked at thrift stores and can’t find any and it’s too late now to order one 🙁  so it’s ironic she was looking for skirts too.  once again, soulmates. aww.
anyway here are picture of easter.
the girls had 3 easter egg hunts
the girls were ecstatic to meet the easter bunny, esp. adi,
so much so that she looked like she was about to punch someone
the girls received easter baskets and a swing set too
they ate waayyyyy too many candies
mike and jay making trouble while trying to take pictures

remember when we went to this b-day party last weekend?
the morning of when we were getting ready to go to the party,
adi insisted she wear a princess dress(tutu) and a crown
so that she could go dance for everybody at the party.
so in her pink princess dress and her princess crown,
we left to go to the party and as we arrived and were parking
 adi says to me,
“mommy, is there gonna be a cage where i can dance in?”
“WHAT??? …you mean stage?”
“yeah mommy, stage.”
“WHEW adi, DO NOT get those two words mixed up.”
we made her say the word “stage” many times,
before we went inside.
once we got to the party, there must’ve been at least 100-150
people there.  and instead of getting shy or scared, she said,
“look mommy! there’s the stage!!!”
and wanted to get on the stage right then to dance.
we told her to wait until we got some food and she waited patiently
and as soon as we got food and sat down, up she went to the stage.
i wish i had recorded the very beginning of it.
she walked up the stairs to the stage and was standing
behind the curtains and poked her head out first while smiling,
then she slowly walked sideways in a straight line
with one foot touching the other foot every step of the way,
with her fingers stretched out
while her head was resting on her left shoulder and looking
at the audience with a content, confident smile to the middle of the stage.
then she starts dancing.
then the song ends and she walks out of the stage the same way
she came in.  then another song starts right after.
(FYI: this video is blurry)
and the other day she was watching disney and selena gomez’s
music video came on.  after looking at it for awhile adi says,
“mommy, i’m going to be her one day.”
at this rate, i don’t doubt it one bit, honey.
and Happy Easter everyone!
i’ll be attending a graduation, throwing a baby shower,
going to as many easter egg hunts as we can
and prepare/teach a lesson on the atonement.
don’t forget to vote for me everyday!
