lagoon preview.

September 19, 2011~ Etc.

we went to lagoon, an amusement park for my husband’s company party.
pictures are to come later but i think this video pretty much summarizes it all.
p.s: just so you don’t get confused, the woman’s high pitched screams you hear
on this intense, frightening, oh-so-fast octopus, little kiddie ride is not by a woman.
or a child for that matter.  it’s actually my husband.
oh, he makes me a one proud wifey.

mommy daughter date.

September 16, 2011~ Etc.

miss A and i went on a mommy-daughter date
while daddy was out on a daddy-daughter date with miss a.
we went to the grocery store
(grocery shopping w/ just one toddler instead of two toddlers?  i’ll take it! 😉
where miss A insisted on sitting on top of the toy car attached to the grocery cart
instead of on the inside and she got a balloon and some gold chocolate coins.
then we went to the cocoa bean to eat some yummy cupcakes.

the other day i said to my girls, “you girls are growing into such kind, beautiful ladies!”
and miss A said, “yeah!  so my body can have babies!”
and miss a said, “and then we die.” (as she put her head down and closed her eyes.)
umm, yes, i guess you could put it that way.
but i hope time will go by very, very, slowly until then. 🙂

have a lovely weekend!

camping

September 14, 2011~ Etc.

we went camping with our family and cousins at the bridal veil falls,
just about 20 mins. away from our house.  i’ve always loved camping,
probably because my dad loves to go camping, so growing up we hit all
the major national parks across the country and built many memories doing so.
there’s just something about camping that makes you forget about the wordly things
(maybe because there’s no phone, computer, internet, or shopping malls there 😉
and remember what’s most important like family, friends,
and the beautiful nature God has created.
we went just overnight and it was our girls’ very first time camping
and they absolutely loved it.  the only thing my older one cared about or wanted to do
was to roast marshmallows, and my little one didn’t even throw any tantrums at all!
i call that a true success. 🙂
so we told colby(the one w/ the cool stache) and jay to go fetch some wood so jay grabbed
his machete & 30 mins. later, they came back with these ridiculously huge tree logs.
i mean, who does that?
s’mores with reesse’s pieces.  yum.
w/ one of my most dear, loved friends/cousin/soulmate, ginny.
thanks for staying up ’till 4:30 a.m to talk about deep doctrine, and feminism.  i heart you.
ms. A with her dora snuggie
i wish we went camping more this summer! 🙁
p.s: to prepare ourselves for camping next summer, do you have a favorite camping site?

end of summer

September 12, 2011~ Etc.

every year when summer’s coming to an end and fall is approaching near,
i feel like all i do is eat, like some wild animal getting ready to hibernate
for the winter.  now that i come to think of it, that would be awesome
if humans hibernated too, don’t you think?  just eat heaps amount of food
and then sleep for the whole season?
(especially if you’re not a big fan of winter and live in ut like me)

anyway, that was my deep thought for the day.
i’m sure all of you feel very enlightened. 😉
1-2: seven peaks on a date w/ my husband, 3-4: burger supreme for dinner, 5-6: dairy queen,
7-8: fruit pizza, dinner w/ friends(& their husbands) on labor day, 9: king crabs,
10: sunday dinner: schezwan chicken stir fry pasta(now our family’s new favorites!)

i can’t sleep

September 8, 2011~ Etc.

today i didn’t get to nap since by the time little a finally went down for a nap, big A woke up from hers.  and i’m a woman who requires a lot of sleep to function(most days i don’t get enough, however), so on days like this, i usually fall asleep with them when i put them to bed for the night.  so i went to bed around 9 p.m, woke up at 1:11 a.m, lied in bed trying to fall back asleep until a quarter past 2 a.m but to no avail, i decided to blog while watching episodes of friends on t.v.
then i came across a commercial about a wash detergent and it had a link to a blog of the lady in the commercial, i got curious and looked it up and read a post about her making a peanut butter pie in honor of her blog friend who’s husband just passed away.  so i went to her friend’s blog and let’s just say it’s exactly 4:51 a.m right now and i haven’t stopped crying for the last 2 1/2 hrs.  like tears dripping down my face the whole time, weeping, sobbing uncontrollably, snot running down my nose, eyes so red and puffy, covering my mouth with my hand so i won’t wake up the family-crying as i’ve read every post on her blog since the passing of her husband.  i do not know this lady and have never read her blog until now but i wish i knew her so badly so that i could run over to her house to give her big hugs and cry with her, to make her dinners every night.  ah, i cannot stop crying still!
this video she posted touched me the most throughout her beautiful, raw writing on her posts because he reminds me of what my husband would do with our daughters and you can tell from the video just how engaging, attentive, sweet, and loving he is to his daughter.  just like my husband.
so thank you jennie, for making me realize how unexpected and short life can be, and to not take time for granted.
p.s: this, this, and this article i found to be very helpful.  they’re LDS articles, and i’m in no way trying to push my religion on anybody, they’re just articles i found that gave me peace and thought someone might feel peace reading it, that’s all.
