giving thanks.

December 12, 2011~ Etc.

(i know thanksgiving was awhile ago
but it’s better late than never, right?)
we’re asians(surprise!) so we don’t celebrate thanksgiving.
we just eat turkey and loads of other food,
watch football, and spend time with family. πŸ˜‰

photos taken by our cousin will.
every year we spend thanksgiving brunch with jay’s grandma’s sister
and her wonderful family.  we look forward to it every year!
then we went to my brother’s and had thanksgiving dinner there,
but i was so hungry that i was too busy eating to be taking any pictures.
i’m so grateful for many things but most of all,
i’m grateful for my savior, Jesus Christ who loves me so much
that he was willing to feel every burden of mine so that he can
comfort me and atone for my sins.  he is wonderful.

christmas party at the preschool.

December 9, 2011~ Etc.

my oldest daughter adi had her christmas party at her preschool.
there were crafts, many appetizers, & scrumptuous treats,
santa, and the students got to perform and sing some christmas songs.
when the teachers called upon all the students to come up to sing,
i made sure adi was up in the front and looked around to see where ana was,
and guess where i found her?  right up on the stage as well, next to her sister.
ana’s not a student yet so i thought about calling her down,
but when i saw her determined face and the eagerness to sing and perform too,
i just couldn’t.  so i let her be and she pretended to be a student for the night!
she mouthed the words and did all the actions too, i couldn’t have been more proud.
do you think adi’s mouth could possibly get any bigger?
adi telling her looooong list to santa.

we were sad daddy had to leave before adi(& ana) performed, but he saw the video when he got home and we were both cracking up.  maybe i’ll post the video sometime. πŸ˜‰
i hope you have a lovely weekend!

mcd’s

December 7, 2011~ Etc.

this picture was taken right before one of my daughters threw up, twice, all over the mcd’s playground while everybody watched us.  one guy and his kids were walking into the playground area when she started throwing up and the dad quickly said to his kids, “let’s go eat somewhere else kids.”  and hurriedly walked out.  i went to go tell the manager while my husband went and got plethora of napkins to clean it up and he managed to get 1/2 of it when one of the employees came with his broom and all the cleaning supplies and insisted he clean the rest of it up.  we said it was okay but he kept insisting so we just stood there and watched him in horror/disgust as he swooped up the rest of the throw up with the napkins-with his bare hands(napkins seeping through with the vomit) and even getting some on his bare hands.  we felt terrible.  my husband and i kept looking at each other like, “what do we do, what do we do?”  i wanted to give him some mad tip but all we had was a couple of dollars which sounded too small and offensive to even offer as a tip for cleaning up our daughter’s vomit.  so we just stood there sheepishly while he cleaned it up while i said at least 10 times, “i’m so sorry, i feel terrible.  thank you so much.”  and then we awkwardly walked out and drove home.  i wish i had gotten his name so i could tell his manager how grateful we are.  so whoever you are, i want to thank you.  thank you for cleaning up my daughter’s vomit.(i can’t believe i’m saying this to even begin with!) it meant a lot to us and you are a wonderful person.
p.s: if you ever see me sneaking in and playing inside the playgrounds at any of the fast food restaurants, don’t judge me.  i’m just supervising and making sure our kids don’t fall into any deathly traps or eat anything poisonous and die.  because that could happen inside these dark tunnels and mountain-high slides, just so you know. πŸ˜‰
