questions for alison sweeney.

March 27, 2012~ Etc.

yoplait has asked me if i’d like to interview alison sweeney, an actress from the days of our lives and the host for the biggest loser.  she’s also the author of the mommy diet, and a mother of two young kids.  i thought my wonderful blog readers would be interested, so i said yes!  so i have a phone interview today at 3 p.m for 30 minutes to ask her whatever i please and i didn’t think much about it but now i’m all stressing.  and getting a little nervous!  what questions do i ask her?  i’ve never watched the show the days of our lives, or the biggest loser, or read her book, or interviewed anyone before.  i don’t feel qualified to be interviewing her!  so that is where you guys come in, i need your help!
what questions should i ask her?  anything you’d like to know about alison sweeney?

friday night beauty night.

March 26, 2012~ Etc.

source
instead of going out like we usually do on a friday night, we stayed home and relaxed.  jay cooked deviled eggs with the girls(adi had cooked deviled eggs at her preschool that day and insisted we make some and try them because it was so yummy), then i painted their nails, and then they wanted to paint daddy’s nails which jay was more than happy to oblige(a little too happy, hmm), and then it would’ve ended there but then jay goes, “adi and ana!  don’t you want to paint mommy’s nails too?”  after seeing jay’s nails that the girls had done, i was reluctant to let them but in the end they won(thanks jay).  so all four of us are now sporting blue, green & yellow nails.
then i recently learned how to make a bun with a sock!  yes, a sock!  apparently, i’m a little late on this sock bun, but i was excited to try it out on me and adi, and i love it, it’s so comfortable and doesn’t hurt your head at the end of the day when you’re wearing the usual high bun w/o the sock.  then ana wanted me to do it on her hair and i was skeptical since her hair’s not long enough yet and this is how it turned out.
i used this tutorial for a sock bun.
too bad we couldn’t try the sock bun on jay. πŸ˜‰

sisterly love is a sisterly love.

March 23, 2012~ Etc.

people have told me raising two kids only a year apart is harder than raising twins.  i wouldn’t know which is harder since i’ve never had twins, but what i know is that it was really, really hard.  my oldest was only 7 months old when i got pregnant with my younger one.  oh, she was still just a little baby herself and depended so much on me when she became a big sister.  she still depended so much on me and yet i expected so much from her.  and she has not let me down but have exceeded any expectation i’ve had of her as the role of a big sister.  and ana of course couldn’t be a more cuter, adorable, charming little sister that she is.
and the best part about having two girls a year apart?  they are the best of friends.  it’s so fun to see them be interested in the same exact things, liking the same toys, t.v shows, and clothes.  it makes me so happy when i see them sharing, loving, playing with each other.  it makes me so warm when i see them take care of each other, and protect each other.  and while the first two years were really hard, it’s actually easier now since they entertain and keep each other company and are so close!  they even share clothes which is going to save a lot of money! πŸ˜‰  so it was a small price to pay on my part for their endless friendship and such close relationship.
adi said to me a couple months ago, “mommy?  i’m the big sister and ana’s the little sister, huh?  well, i’m always gonna watch out for ana and always keep my eye on her.”
and boy, did she mean it!  the other day some kids called ana a not-so-nice name and she came to tell me what they said.  i told her it doesn’t matter what other people say because she knows, i know, and heavenly father knows that she is not what they said and it doesn’t matter what other people say.  feeling somewhat dissatisfied with my response, she went to her older sister adi to tell her what happened.  immediately, adi put on her shoes, went outside and went right up to the kids and as she put both of her hands on her hips she said, “hey!  no one calls my sister that, she is not!  if you keep calling her that, you guys are the one that is, okay?  you be nice to my sister!”  she repeated this line about 6 more times to make sure they got her point.  then they all played together happily.  i listened to the whole thing inside the house with the window cracked open, giggling and being so proud of her.  and being so grateful they are the sisters i always hoped they would be.

breakfast at tiffany’s.

March 22, 2012~ Etc.

as a thank you for updating about the grand opening of tiffany and co.,
guess what i received in the mail!

if you didn’t believe me last time when i told you how jay loves tiffany’s more than i do,
do you believe me now? πŸ˜‰
and yesterday morning we attended breakfast at tiffany’s
for the celebration of their grand opening at the city creek center.

the lady is telling me to look at the ring i tried on through the mirror to see the brilliance of it,
and not looking at me from behind like a creep, just to clarify. πŸ˜€
you can’t see in the pictures but i tried on a yellow diamond ring and a heart bracelet.  jay insisted i try on the heart bracelet and little did i know he planned on buying it for me…….. until he saw the price tag.  hahaha, he was expecting it to be a few hundred dollars but it was a few thousand dollars instead. i thought it was the sweetest nonetheless. πŸ™‚  and i declined his offer on buying me something else(eh hem, cheaper) at the store but instead let him buy me a $20 purse from h&m instead.  am i weird that i never want to buy an expensive name brand? while i love and appreciate their beauty and exquisite details, my goal in life is to actually never buy an expensive designer brand, or have my husband buy one for me(if it comes out of our bank account, then no, I’d rather buy something else.  if i receive it for free though, oh, i’d totally wear it! :).  yeah, i guess i’m weird.  but that doesn’t mean i can’t admire and appreciate them. πŸ™‚
and as you can see, guess who finally shaved!?  i can see his handsome face again!
thank you tiffany and co. and intrepid for allowing me to be a part of this great event!
