camping

June 27, 2013~ Etc.

We went camping for one night with our friends and their two kids.  Everyone was telling me how brave I was for going camping at 8 months pregnant, and I thought, what’s the big deal?  It won’t be so bad… but once we got there, WHAT WAS I THINKING? was what I was thinking throughout the trip.  Our group made quiet the pair with our friend having a leg boot and limping his every step while I’m on the side wobbling around with my giant belly.

the farthest Achilles got in the water.  this boy hates getting wet!
I love eavesdropping on their conversations, little kids talk about the cutest things.

We had a ton of fun but it did take us a full day to recover. We decided that camping’s not worth it unless you go for at least 2 days with all the packing, setting up, planning and the time you put into it.  So I can’t wait to go camping a lot next Summer, especially with our little son!

Camping

August 28, 2012~ Etc.

the girls made a new friend
making tin foil dinner
no one dares to bother ana while she’s eating her marshmallows
making orange chocolate cake.  it is soooo good!
achilles snatched one while it was cooling and then acted like he’s all innocent
a lovely shot of achilles
We went camping at the Payson Lake, and it’s been one of our favorite camping sites so far. Well, besides the fact that they don’t have running toilets. The lake is beautiful and we plan on going back with a little boat to ride in next time. Once we got to the camping site, we realized Ana never put on her shoes because she was wearing the pajama onesie and we just assumed she put her shoes on!  So we carried her around a lot.  Next time, that’ll definitely be on our checklist, to make sure our kids have their shoes on.

Haha, I don't know which one I'd rather forget to pack, they're both very important things! πŸ˜‰

Of course! You scoop out all the insides of the orange like carving out a pumpkin. Then you make a chocolate cake mix as directed on the box and fill the chocolate mixture up to half. Wrap it in foil and put it next to the fire for about 20 mins. It really is so good, you should try it. πŸ™‚

camping

September 14, 2011~ Etc.

we went camping ο»Ώwith our family and cousins at the bridal veil falls,
just about 20 mins. away from our house.  i’ve always loved camping,
probably because my dad loves to go camping, so growing up we hit all
the major national parks across the country and built many memories doing so.
there’s just something about camping that makes you forget about the wordly things
(maybe because there’s no phone, computer, internet, or shopping malls there πŸ˜‰
and remember what’s most important like family, friends,
and the beautiful nature God has created.
we went just overnight and it was our girls’ very first time camping
and they absolutely loved it.  the only thing my older one cared about or wanted to do
was to roast marshmallows, and my little one didn’t even throw any tantrums at all!
i call that a true success. πŸ™‚
so we told colby(the one w/ the cool stache) and jay to go fetch some wood so jay grabbed
his machete & 30 mins. later, they came back with these ridiculously huge tree logs.
i mean, who does that?
s’mores with reesse’s pieces.  yum.
w/ one of my most dear, loved friends/cousin/soulmate, ginny.
thanks for staying up ’till 4:30 a.m to talk about deep doctrine, and feminism.  i heart you.
ms. A with her dora snuggie
i wish we went camping more this summer! πŸ™
p.s: to prepare ourselves for camping next summer, do you have a favorite camping site?

ugh I hate camping, it is so much work for just a little fun. We only did it once this year and I was packing all day then cleaning up for like 3 days after. Boo to camping, but that being said, you guys are so cute and it looks like camping with you guys would be fun. Plus Kory really like Jay, and maybe camping with a one year old would be more fun than camping with a 3 month old that insisted she needed to be in bed by 8:30.

But we went up hobble creek at jolley's ranch canyon, it was really beautiful up there.

@donching: i've never tried koka noodles, it must be japanese, it sounds delicious, I LOVE ramen/noodles! and thanks for your sweet comment, you are so nice. πŸ™‚
@amy: hmm, i never really thought about it like that, i usually just cook while i let the men do all the labor work hahaha! and we should go camping next year together, i'd love that!
@naomi mae: oh you are just so kind, thank you. it's just good lighting that's all. πŸ™‚
