i feel like i talk about my girls all the time but i don’t talk about my husband much. so here is a post all about him, and no one else. here are 5 reasons out of many on why i’m grateful for him.
1. i’m grateful for his sense of humor. he is HILARIOUS. the funniest person i have ever met. this picture above was taken a few days ago at the BYU luau when we sat next to our friends wayne and mary. mary wanted to take a picture of just them two, on their special date night without their 3 kids, but guess who didn’t care and decided to join in on the picture! i’m grateful he makes me laugh out loud numerous times everyday.
2. i’m grateful he always knows when we’re in need of more toilet paper. we’ll be shopping at the grocery store and he’ll say, “oh, we need to buy more toilet paper, we only have 2 more rolls!” he realizes this every single time and i have yet to realize this before he does. he does the same thing with the detergent, fabric softener, dish washer detergent, and dish soap.
3. i’m grateful for his sensitive soul. he looks so tough and manly, which he is plenty, but he’s also such a sweet, sensitive, caring guy. and not ashamed to admit he cries. and why do i have this picture of charly? you should ask my husband. π
4. going on with being sweet and sensitive, i’m grateful that while he may not look it, he’s the girl in the relationship in many ways. i’m usually the one saying, “i can’t read your mind! you need to tell me how you feel.” which he says, “if you really love me, you would know without me telling you…” or the time i forgot about our 1st anniversary and when he mentioned it i said, “oh, sorry… it’s just a date, not a big deal…” and he said to me, “it is a big deal. it means we’ve been married for one year. one year of memories, one year of love…” yeah, i felt terrible after that. he’s like a sweet old lady in a manly man’s body. hahaha
5. i’m grateful at how protective he is of me and our girls. if you mess with me, you better be ready to take on my man! he will literally beat you up. or if you’re a woman, he might grab you and dump you in the trash can. not joking. don’t know if i’m grateful about what he’ll do to someone that messes with me, but i’m grateful at how i feel completely safe and at ease with him by my side.
i’m grateful for you, jay. i love you heaps.

This is so darling. I love it. And I love the love you guys share. My first thought when reading the Charly part was "Oo! I'm going to download that right now and watch it with my husband to see if I can get him to cry!" Haha! PS…whenever Jay is doing something cute like dressing up like prince charming, letting your girls paint his nails, etc. I always run and show my husband and tell him he should do things like that when we have little girls. π Love your blog. Thanks for all you share.
xoxo

Awesome qualities! I am so thankful for my husband too! Some people I know are having marital problems, I am so happy to know that I have worked at my marriage for 15+ years and am still in love with my husband. It seems like some people give up.
Yesterday I got an icky text from a person I didn't know. My husband called the number and threatened them accordingly. I felt so protected! I was glad it was on the phone because I know he would had punched the guy!

I also know so many people with marital problems and it makes me so sad! marriage is definitely hard work. And that is so awesome he called the guy back, my husband would've done the same too i think. What a wonderful husband you have! π Thanks so much for your comment!

Oh my goodness, it keeps slipping my mind! thanks for the reminder, I will post it with my monday post! π

What a lucky girl! The subtext in #2 is saying that he probably helps with dishes/laundry/changing toilet paper. π Either way he's observant!… and that's a great and rare trait for a guy. I'm glad you're not a woman who feels entitled to things, but instead is grateful for what your husband does. (I think guys get the shaft too often) You are a wonderful wife too because it's not everyone who takes notice of those things (and shares them with the world). I'm sure Jay feels lucky too!
Emily says
Oh man! I just realized I gave men the shaft when I said being observant is a rare trait!!

Haha, Emily you're so cute, you just made me laugh out loud! And yes, he's very observant and does all those things. Thanks for your comment and making me laugh! Haha
