it’s been quiet hectic around here lately(jay’s parents are here, bridal shower, father’s day, preparing for a farewell party for jay’s little brother) but i wanted to make sure to write a father’s day post even if it’s a day late.
i want to thank my own father, who is a spiritual giant, who i saw and watched as i grew spiritually. i’m grateful he led us to read the scriptures everyday as a family, conducted FHE every week, took us to church every sunday, took my siblings to early morning seminary and even went with them and attended everyday, prayed together everyday, and so much more. he’s not a man of many words and he hardly lectured me, but instead led me by the way he lived his life, by his very examples. my most fondest memory is going on daddy-daughter dates with him, we would often bike to BYU campus and get an ice-cream cone at the creamery and just talk about life. daddy, you are a wonderful man and a wonderful father. i love you so much daddy. happy father’s day.
and to my girls’ daddy, oh how i love the way you play with our girls. i love the way you always make them laugh. i love the way you walk in the door after work and instead of going in your “man cave”, you pay full attention to us and when i ask, “don’t you need your man cave time? i’ve read that men need to wind down from the day’s work by watching t.v, reading a newspaper, etc. i’m more than happy to give you that time.” and you just say, ” why do i need to wind down by watching t.v when i have my three girls? this is my winding down time, being with you girls.” i love how you are so protective of our little girls, and i hope no one ever messes with them, because oh boy, they’re gonna get it(some already have, but no need to talk about that today ;), i love the way you read books to them so animated, i think it’s the cutest thing, and most of all, i love the way you always find ways to make them happy at unexpected times.
these pictures i took a couple months ago but thought it’d be appropriate to save until father’s day. these pictures describe exactly what kind of a father jay is to our little girls.
adi already had a princess dress and a princess crown so she wanted to go buy princess slippers.
we searched and found a perfect one and as soon as we came home,
she was so excited to wear it all and pose for pictures.
she was so excited to wear it all and pose for pictures.
don’t you love her lil’ feet poses?
and as we were busy snapping away, a handsome prince shows up out of nowhere,
fully dressed in his suit!
you can guess how excited adi was.
then the prince reenacts the part where a princess loses her shoe at midnight
and he goes around the whole town searching for the girl who will fit the lost shoe perfectly.
(he has me and ana try the shoe on and to our disappointment, it’s not the right fit.)
then a pretty princess shows up and right when he’s about to put the show on her feet,
the evil stepmother(me, thanks jay) “accidentally” trips the prince and the shoe goes flying
in the air and breaks!
the evil stepmother(me, thanks jay) “accidentally” trips the prince and the shoe goes flying
in the air and breaks!
and while the prince is in despair, the princess says, “but look, i have the other shoe!”
and they have their dance while the prince serenades his princess
and of course, their true love kiss.
and this is exactly what kind of a father jay is. engaging, funny, sweet, caring, and sincere. i love that he is our little girls’ daddy. happy father’s day to you jay, we love you so much. from adi, ana and your wifey.
and happy father’s day to my heavenly father, to my father-in-law, and to all the fathers out there!

I love this. It reminds me of how my dad played with me and my two little sisters. We used to play Pretty Pretty Princess for HOURS. Thanks for posting this, it definitely made me smile.
