weekend

August 29, 2011~ Etc.

i went to a cabin to stay overnight with my RS sisters from the church.
we had so much fun that the only times i took pictures were
right when we got there and right before we headed back home.
then my neice had a 100th day b-day party(in korean tradition you have a big party
on the baby’s 100th day to celebrate that the baby is healthy and alive.
-back in the day, many babies didn’t survive past three months in korea)
and my neice also had a baby blessing the next day.

*not pictured:
-jay’s been talking about his NFL draft for over a month and it finally happened.
he reminded me, many many times for the past month, these three things:
1. the kids had to be in bed before then.
2. to get the kids if they happen to wake up.
3. to not bother him.
and when i passed him by to go to the bathroom, he glanced up so i said, “hi!”
which he quickly said, “shh.  i gotta concentrate right now.  this is important.”
i wanted to tell him how he should’ve just said hi back which would’ve
saved a lot more time on talking and more time on concentrating, but i didn’t.
so i guess i only fulfilled the first two.  fail.

lol my husband says I always manage to interupt him when it's his turn to pick. poor guy

Your husband probably didn't just say "hi" back because he wanted to ensure that you would not bother him again on your way back from the bathroom. lol

I'm so glad you took some pictures! I had my camera but never even took it out of my bag. I seriously talked about it the whole rest of the weekend. Your stories about Korean baths and mean old ladies were so amazing. I'm so glad you came!

weekend

February 2, 2011~ Etc.

UGH, i was sewing but i got frustrated so here i am blogging.  motherhood teaches you patience but so does sewing.  it really tests my patience as i have a vision in my head but it doesn’t work the way i want it to so i gotta use my seam ripper over and over and over again.  it’s like the seam ripper is my worst enemy and my best friend when it comes to sewing.  i hate hate using it but when i do gotta use it, i’m so glad it’s there and realize i take it for granted haha.  times like these i think it’s best to just stop sewing for the night and try again with a fresh mind the next day.
ANYWAY this past weekend…
we always have a hard time finding a restaurant to go eat on a friday night
since everywhere we go there’s a loooong line.  i wanted to go to CPK but
when we drove by it looked packed so we went to a chinese restaurant near by.ο»Ώ

and i dyed my hair.
i bought a dye that said DARK BROWN but it turned JET BLACK! what’s up with that?!!
as i was a little annoyed i walked up to my husband and had this conversation.
me: “hun look! it’s jet black!!! it’s even darker than my natural hair color!!! UGH!”
jay: “i like it.”
me: “you do? you like it better than before?”
jay: “oh yeah, i thought your haircolor before was uuugly!.”
me: “……..what??? are you serious? how come you never told me?”
jay: “I told you before.”
me: “do you like this black better than if it was dark brown?”
jay: “yeah, i prefer the natural look.”
as i walked back to the bathroom, i remembered our conversation way long ago.
me: “hun, i’m gonna dye my hair golden brown.”
jay: “i prefer the natural look but whatever, i think you can pull off anything.”
so i guess i should’ve took that as
“NO! i think golden brown will be fugly! DON’T DO IT!!!”
only if i had a men dictionary with me.
so black it is.
and let’s be honest here, the only reason why i took this picture was
because i love the look of my cardigan from the sideview.  ha.ha.ha.
then my darlings wanted in on the photoshoot too.

then i went to my church’s activity where i learned about photography
while jay took the kids to a 7-11 grand opening of our friends where adalie got her face painted.
and we went to McD’s
have you ever had their angus third pounder hambuger? it’s really good!

    Sarah,

On natural Asian hair if you dye with what the box says dark brown it's really no surprise that you get jet black. I used to dye my hair and when I want medium brown I pick the box that says dark blonde or similar shades. Something to keep in mind, but glad that your husband likes the jet black!

yeah i didn't buy a box at the drug store, i went to sally's beauty supply and told the lady i wanted dark brown so she gave me medium brown. she assured me many times it would turn out dark brown but obviously it didn't haha.
