Even though this refashion DIY is like my 142nd, this is my very first video episode of Vintage Refashion! I am trying to make sewing my priority so there will be many more to come and I am trying to grow my YouTube channel, so I’d love for you to subscribe and tell your friends! You can subscribe here: http://youtube.com/sarahtyau

For this episode I bought a XL light yellow dress from The Salvation Army Family Store for $4.99 and turned it into a form fitting waist-tie dress. I feel this is a simple transformation and not an elaborate one, and I chose this because I see many dresses like this at thrift stores and thought it could be more relatable, so that you could do this too, unlike other vintage dresses you find that’s one of a kind. I had a vision of the after within seconds of looking at the dress at the store and it turned out exactly the way I envisioned. I got another epic yellow dress from there that you just have to stay tuned to see in the near future!

I have to thank you for all the support you show me of my sewing projects, the encouraging comments on my blog, Instagram, Facebook, emails, and DM's. They assure me that this is what I need to focus on, to focus on doing my best and not anything else. So thank you!

And I didn’t know this, but did you know that The Salvation Army funds the largest no cost adult rehabilitation program in the U.S? You can show your support by donating gently used clothes, furniture, household appliances and automobiles. They are then resold to the general public, which help fund more than 150 adult rehabilitation centers around the country that help more than 320,000 people each year. Program beneficiaries receive a clean and healthy living environment, work therapy, group and individual counseling, spiritual direction and numerous resources to help them develop life skills and and a personal relationship with God. Say what? So cool!!! I am just a huge nerd that loves these kinds of things – organizations that do good.

What an awesome refashion! Can’t see the yellow too well in the pictures, but I love the belt.
