Staycation in Park City

June 23, 2014~ Etc.

We took a staycation in Park City during our 3-day weekend.  We stayed at a beautiful hotel Montage Deer Valley and they welcomed us with a handmade poster, cookies & milk and stuffed dolls for the kids and they couldn’t be more thrilled!  Talk about excellent service!

once we settled in our beautiful rooms, we headed straight to the swimming pool.

this guy’s smile just kills me.  just kills me!
we took advantage of Montage’s s’more night and let the kids eat way too much sweets.
Ana admiring her s’mores haha.
then after we put the kids to bed, Jay and I were suppose to have a little date in our hotel room, but he fell asleep as he was putting the girls to sleep the whole night!  so I hung out by myself and got bored and went to bed.  this is the married life with 3 kids. 🙂
woke up in the morning and went swimming again of course!
love the slippers for our little girls.

we spent the day shopping at the outlet malls and eating at Freebirds.  We heard good things about that place and it was pretty good.  We are still devout fans of Chipotle however. 😉
For dinner we ate at our hotel’s Burgers and Bourbon.  We loved their fries the most!
the next day we went to the Alpine Slide, one of the world’s longest slide ride.
as Ana and I were going up the ski lift, we looked back to this view and she said, “Mommy!  See those pokey things on top of that mountain?  That’s New York!”, and a moment later, “Mommy!  I see the ends of the world!”  Oh, the life from a 5 year old girl.  It’s so adorable.
We had such a great time.  We love Park City and look forward to going back soon!  Do you love going on staycations as much as I do?  What are some fun things you have done on your staycation?

Lift ride at Sundance

August 17, 2012~ Etc.

{Top: Anthropologie | Jeans: Romwe | Shoes: Target | Necklace: DIY}
We went on a scenic lift ride at Sundance with dad.  I think it’s safe to say the most scared one out of all of us was Jay, I mean the girls.

Cherry picking.

July 10, 2012~ Etc.

Every time we go cherry picking, I have the hardest time controlling myself to stop picking those darn cherries!  Jay has to say to me, “Hun, 20 more minutes of picking, and we gotta go.”, “10 more minutes!”, “5 more minutes!” and then “Okay, we gotta go now, come on!” Then I beg him to let me pick for just 15 more minutes, then 10 more minutes, and then 5 minutes, and it goes on.  He has to come and literally get me off the ladder as I try to grab as much as I can while he’s pulling me away from me and my precious cherries.
But after almost 2 hours of picking and getting 18+ lbs. of cherries, I guess I was satisfied.  For now anyway.  Next, we’re going raspberry and blackberry picking!

Orem fest.

June 14, 2012~ Etc.

We love carnivals.  We love them so much that every year, we hit all the carnivals there is in Utah county.  The first one they had this summer was the orem fest, so of course we were there!

but it was FREEZING and so windy, it was ridiculous!  So I drove home and grabbed some warm clothes for all of us.  In the picture below, I am wearing a thermal long sleeve shirt, a sweater, a fur hoodie, and a sweater coat in June!
Then before we left, Jay and I decided to join the girls for the last two rides.  It was the worst idea ever because we felt like puking all night long afterwards.

snowman, snow angel, snowball fight!

November 21, 2011~ Etc.

over the weekend we woke up one morning with our girls screaming, “mommy, daddy!  there’s snow outside, come look, come look!!! can we go play in the snow?”  so we bundled them up in their purple snowsuits(which i just call purple marshmallows because i think they look like giant purple marshmallows with it on) and went outside to play in the snow.
it didn’t snow that much so it took most of the snow in our front yard to make the snowman.  and jay somehow tricked the girls into thinking the snowballs they were continually getting hit were thrown by me, so the girls kept throwing snowballs at me and only me!  with jay joining them from behind yelling, “let’s get mom back!”  tsk, tsk, tsk.
but i gotta admit, i did get them back pretty good, especially jay, so it was a fair battle i must say.  and we finished our morning outing with some hot cocoa with lots and lots of marshmallows.  and everyone was a happy soldier.
