Girls Night Out Ritual: Farmer’s Market

September 18, 2015~ Etc.

The girls and I’ve been riding our scooters to the Farmer’s Market near our house that’s held every week. I would have liked to go more than we have this Summer but I was so busy, we didn’t go every week like I had wanted to. But I am slowing down and focusing on being a good mother and a wife and we plan on going every week until it closes next month! I haven’t taken any pictures all the past times we went this Summer but I brought my camera along so I could capture what’s become one of our favorite “mother-daughter-daughter-date”(as my girls call it) traditions. And Jay and our boy decided to join us this time!

Yes, he keeps us up in our toes, that’s for sure! Look at Jay’s concerned face as he’s running to grab him! He is such a cute dad.

These two are the best buddies. I love watching them grow older together.

We tend to always buy the same things: BYU creamery ice cream, a bag of kettle corn and veggies or fruit. I bought second hand peaches this time so I can make peach jam!

Thanks Jay for being the camera-man, Aiden’s bodyguard and a delivery boy. 😉
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Do you have anything fun for the weekend?

Slide the City

September 23, 2014~ Etc.

We went to Slide the City, a 1000 ft. slip and slide that you ride in the heart of Salt Lake City.

I try to carry my girls as much as possible before they get too big for me to carry. 🙁

The lines were pretty long and they ran out of tubes so we had to ask around, and a couple of people got hurt and were carried off on an ambulance.  But if the lines weren’t so long, it would’ve been worth it.  Would I go again?  Probably not, at least not with 5 kids 6 and under!

Caterpillar hunting

June 10, 2013~ Etc.

On our Sunday family walk after church, we went up to the canyons to look for caterpillars. Jay remembers catching one when he was a little boy and watching it grow to a pupa and then to a butterfly, and we thought the girls would enjoy watching the transitional period also.  The girls loved looking at the leaves and trying to spot the caterpillars and we found several!  We safely put them in a jar and when we came home, Jay made their new home using an old screen door while we all drank homemade orange julius.  We are hoping they’ll all survive and transform into beautiful butterflies!

General Conference

April 8, 2013~ Etc.

We enjoyed General Conference this past weekend with just us family.  We usually invite some friends over for some loco moco(Hawaiian cuisine of white rice, hamburger patty, fried egg topped with gravy) while watching the morning session of General Conference, but this weekend Jay and I were both hashed(lack of sleep+allergies=bleh) so we kept it chill.  On Saturday during conference, we ate french toast, and thanks to all the creative mothers out there via pinterest, my kids were entertained most of the sessions(download activity one, two, three, four).  Between the sessions, Jay took the girls ice skating and came home with delicious hamburgers & fries from Burgers Supreme.  On Sunday we watched conference, ate shrimp tacos and many snacks in between, and went on a family walk.  The girls love driving their little car to the church parking lot and parking their car in one of the stalls.  When we came home we had a movie & popcorn night and we got to cuddle with our girls the whole time, which was wonderful.

One Saturday.

November 7, 2012~ Etc.

sweater: old navy | striped sweater skirt: c/o romwe | necklace: h&m | flats: target
hoodie: stole it from my little brother | Dickie Shorts: walmart | NikeFree 5.0: Footlockah
Last Saturday, I went out to lunch with my girlfriends to eat delicious pho’ & boba, and laughed the whole 3 hours.  Then we went and watched Wreck-it Ralph which was surprisingly a very good movie.  I wasn’t that excited to see it but it ended up being one of the best animations I’ve seen.  Then we went to dinner at one of our favorite Chinese restaurants, Chen’s noodle house.  It was a great Saturday!
