Sunday Family Selfie/Sunday Mission Story

January 25, 2016~ SUNDAY MISSION STORY

I even wiped the mirror just for this picture, if you can’t tell. You are welcome guys.

Now on to my Sunday mission story:

One evening we had an impression to go visit Sis. Frazier, one of the widows in our ward. As we knocked on her door, she asked with a somewhat irritated voice, “Who is it?” I said, “It’s the sister missionaries.” Then she opened the door and I asked timidly, “Is it too late to visit you?” she said no and invited us in. The next 1 1/2 was spent talking to her and sharing our favorite scriptures. Wanting to cheer up her dampened mood, I gave her a head, neck, and a shoulder massage for 1 1/2 hrs and oh boy, my arms were so sore the next day! But we didn’t think much of the night and went on with our missionary life.

Then 4 weeks later at church in Relief Society(a class for 18+ yrs. old women), we were talking about developing Christ-like attributes and how it’s important to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Then Sister Frazier raises her hand and she said,

“A few weeks back, I had the most terrible day ever. I came home and I didn’t even turn on the heater even though I was cold because I felt so miserable, I didn’t even think I deserved being warm. It was a way to punish myself even more. I said to myself, I don’t think I could go on with my life anymore. I lost all hope and I just wanted to give up. I felt no one loved me and appreciated me. I felt so lonely. Then a knock was heard at the door and Sister Choi(my maiden name) asked timidly, is it too late to visit you? I said no and invited the sisters in. For the next 1 1/2 hours, Sister Choi massaged me without stopping even once. And Sister Packard shared with me her favorite scripture. I have never felt so much love from anyone for a long long time. When they looked at their watch and realized they were past curphew, they said I love you and left. After they left, I knew they were sent from our Heavenly Father. I know he is aware of my life. I know he loves me.”
