recipes from the b-day party

November 9, 2010~ Etc.

some of you asked for the recipe for the cheesecake ice-cream cake,
japchae(korean glass noodles) and the donuts from my husband’s birthday party.
so here it is!

japchae recipe here.

donuts
– vegetable oil
– can of refrigerated biscuits
poke a hole in the middle of the biscuits and fry them in vegetable oil.
krispy kreme glaze
1/3 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4 -6 tablespoons hot water
Creamy Glaze: 1. Heat butter until melted. 2.Remove from heat. 3.Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. 4.Stir in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency. 5. pour over the donuts.

raspberry cheesecake ice-cream cake

1. in a bowl mix 12 oz. whipped regular cream cheese and 1 gallon of vanilla ice-cream with an electric mixer. (+ or – cream cheese according to your desire.)
2. cut the raspberries in half.
3. put the raspberries on top of the ice-cream.
4. bake the brownies on a round pan.
5. flip the brownies on top of the ice-cream and raspberries.

6. freeze overnight and to get the ice-cream cake out of the bowl, run warm water around the bottom of the bowl, put it on top of a plate/platter and it should slide out with some tapping.

7. make whip cream(heavy whipping cream+powder sugar) and put it on top of the cake. decorate the top with some fresh raspberries and refreeze until the whip cream gets hard.

also make sure to taste-test the whip cream
just to make sure it’s good. 🙂

Hey~ The cake turned out great! I usually mix the fruit in with the ice cream so you get some fruit in EVERY bite. It's a little hard to mix the ice cream but it's super good! Glad it worked out and that Jay loved it! I made some pineapple ice cream cake but since my teeth are so sensitive with the birth… it's been sitting in the freezer untouched. Maybe you should come over and help me eat it!
