Our little night owl

December 7, 2012~ Etc.

Every night after we put the girls to bed, our little night owl likes to sneak out of her bed a few times to tell us, “I’m too scared.”, “I have growing pains!”, “Can I just get a one more kiss and a hug?”, and always, “Mommy, could you sneak in my bed and sleep with me after?”
Sometimes when Jay and I are watching a movie downstairs and we go back upstairs after the movie is over, we find her sleeping on the stairs like this.   Sometimes it’s in the living room upstairs when we’re watching t.v.  We’ll turn the t.v off and as we get up to go to bed, we find her sleeping 10 ft. behind us.  We don’t really know how long she’s been “hanging out” with us quietly, but we find it kind of adorable that she loves us so much that she wants to be near us until the moment her eyes shut close.
My darling girl.  How much I love you.

this is adorable! i used to do that too when i was little, but mostly cause 1)why did all my other siblings get to watch a movie and i had to go to bed? and 2.) i was scared of the dark and nobody would walk me to my room. i love your daughter's reasons though, especially the growing pains one πŸ™‚

    oh…
my kids still sleep with us everynight. They still sleep by hugging and cuddling me, their mom.
I know that is not good for the kids, but my husband can't bear to let them sleep alone. Besides, they aren't with us all day long (me and my husband are full-time worker), so I think it's okay to be with them all night long

Haha, oh my gosh, adorable! I remember falling asleep curled up on the floor in front of my parents' bedroom door when I was little. The things little kids do!

That is sweet πŸ™‚ Lily does that, too. I have learned to be careful where I step in the dark since more than once I have tripped over her sleeping body! Miss you guys!

how cute is your daughter! I remember being scared when I was younger, so I would sleep in the doorway of my bedroom so I could hear my parents before I fell asleep
