my little girl

August 30, 2011~ Etc.

my little girl is not so little anymore.
she started preschool and i think i was more nervous than her.
i picked out her outfit the day before and set my alarm for the morning
and when i woke up, i felt just like it was my first day of school,
nervous, excited, and giddy.
what she doesn’t know is that after i dropped her off,
i watched her from the window for about 20 mins.
wanting to run in there and give her hugs and kisses,
to tell her, “you are still my little baby, you’re not old enough to go to school!”
but i didn’t and i let her be.  and she was such a good student.
i guess i have to get used to just letting her be and watch from a distant,
knowing that i can’t control everything that she does anymore.
and that makes me really sad, that i have to slowly let her go so she can just be.
but i trust my little one, for she’s such a good girl.
but i will always be right here, just in case you need me.

aw how sweet! I don't have kids, but I expect letting them go to their first day of preschool/school would be pretty hard.
She's gorgeous πŸ™‚ And a great outfit too haha.

So cute your girl! And the pictures are lovely. It's hard to let go, but than also, it's fun to get your freedom back a little. And she'll always be your girl!

I know what you feel, same thoughts for, now she is turning 5 and we just changed her babygirl bed into a real big bed, and I felt like a page has turned again…

I felt the same exact way yesterday when I dropped my little guy off. I know they have to grow up at some point, but school just seems like such a "big kid" thing, right? Your little pre-schooler is so cute!

What a sweet sentiment. Good luck to both of you in her first year of school. πŸ™‚

I know how you feel. Just thinking about Axel going to school gets me excited, but extremely nervous too. I'm the kind of dad that wants to tell the teacher how to best help my kid and make sure he gets all their attention. I know teachers hate that. So I'm preparing myself to not do that. Luckily I have 3 years before we get there.

Sarah, she looks so big, just since the last time I saw her! Hope all is going well for you and your family. I miss you, we need to get together again! I got a new phone and lost all the numbers from my old one and obviously don't have yours anymore, so facebook it to me and we can do another playdate! And, what preschool are you guys using? I like the one I have James in, but I am looking for one a bit closer, so let me know! Miss you!

I keeps telling myself… "well he's not packing for college" and then my mother says, guess what… that's going to be right around the corner! but I won't think about it if you don't (His first day of kindergarten is tomorrow!)

@kory, the preschool she's in actually has interviews with the parents so they can tell the teacher their kid's specific needs and such. sounds like a school for you! πŸ™‚

@cirina, i will email you right now! πŸ™‚

    thanks for your comments everyone.
