Mother’s Day

May 20, 2015~ Etc.

We started celebrating Mother’s Day on Saturday. My parents live about 2 miles away from my house and I am so grateful I get to celebrate this holiday with her. I gave my mom two frames with quotes about a mom(you can find the free printable a few posts back on my blog) and also this beautiful wallet from MZ Wallace in blue which is her favorite color.
Along with the wallet for my mom, MZ Wallace sent me this handbag in gold/silver sparkle linen for Mother’s Day which was so sweet and thoughtful of them. I chose this bag because it’s a classic style and the gold/silver hue matches with anything. Thank you MZ Wallace!

Saturday lunch we took my parents out to dinner.

My 1st grader drew a picture of me. It looks just like me, doesn’t it? πŸ˜‰

I woke up on Mother’s Day to breakfast in bed with handmade cards & chocolates.

And that awkward moment when you’re minding your own business & preparing to teach the Young Women at church while sitting in the halls eating a cookie, when a lady walks by and while laughing hysterically says to you, “Oh my gosh, you’re just the funniest person ever, every time I see you, you’re eating something! What is that? You have a WHOLE bag of cookies! You always have snacks with you every Sunday and eat it during class and sacrament!” I had nothing to say to that so I gave her a cookie….

Then a couple weeks ago I posted this on my FB:
so Jay made me elotes for dinner on Mother’s Day! How sweet and thoughtful was that?

We had my parents over too and Jay made steamed crabs, me and my mom’s favorite. For dessert we ate cheesecake with fresh berries.
Every year when Mother’s Day approaches, I think of the women who can’t conceive or something’s stopping them from having a child and it makes me sad. It must be a hard holiday for these women. So for me, Mother’s Day is about celebrating ALL women who are nurturers, who lead others, who befriends others, who helps others. So I hope all of you had a wonderful Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day

April 19, 2015~ Etc.

Welcome to the American Greetings Best Mother’s Day Ever at Walmart Shoppertunity. We are very excited to be working with you and cannot wait to see the content you create!
Your blog post should focus on creating the Best Mother’s Day Ever with a special gift inspired by the “One-Stop Shop” from American Greetings at Walmart. Please create the best Mother’s Day gift ever from the “One-Stop Shop” display and talk about why you want to create this special gift for the special Mom in your life. You’ll also be sharing your Mother’s Day party and what it means to you to celebrate with the special mom or moms in your life. Your party should feature a Mother’s Day tablescape and party decor featuring American Greetings party ware wherever possible. Feel free to focus on your mom, aunt, grandmother, or other special mom (new mom, friend who is a mom, someone who is like a mom) and tell a special story about why this woman deserves the best Mother’s Day Ever. We are looking for stories that pull at your readers’ heart strings and heartfelt messages of love and appreciation. We don’t want just a review of the items you find, but the story behind why you want to put this gift together. Focus on the emotional side of this special holiday and how you are inspired by the “One-Stop Shop” display from American Greetings at Walmart. You’re story should not just focus solely on the gift, but also the “experience” of sharing this special day with the “Mom” figure in your life.
You should be able to find these displays from American Greetings beginning on April 5, after Easter, and it should feature candles, candy, cards, flowers, and other gifts to build the entire best gift ever for Mother’s Day. If you do not find this display, please contact your CL immediately for further instruction. Please do not just purchase an American Greetings card from the card aisle as a replacement. The focus of this campaign is on the “One-Stop Shop” display and inspiration from the items found in the display with American Greetings cards being the hero.

Mother’s Day weekend

May 15, 2014~ Etc.

Dropping my brother off at the airport.  My parents came back just in time for Mother’s day!  They were in Korea for the past 6 months for some health issues so my brother Jacob went to Korea to fly with them to UT and make sure they were okay.    He is going to Afghanistan in August and I won’t see him for a year! πŸ™
Do I look happy?  Haha, shopping for a new sewing machine.
We went to Chitpotle after grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s.  I craved chitpotle so bad while doing Whole30 and it tasted so good!
we stopped at Scheels to buy some running shoes for the kids.  I told Jay they’re fine just wearing some shoes from payless but he said, “No, my kids can only wear Nike’s.”  Sigh.
“Mommy, let’s wink for the picture!”
Daddy teaching her how to tie shoelaces.  She was getting so frustrated.
Sunday morning I woke up to this!
I got cookies from my oldest and orchids from my youngest daughter.  The cookies say, “You and me are like cookies and milk…. they just go great together!”
and the girls wanted to make me a funny face for breakfast.
After we came home from church, Jay let me take a nap with Aiden, then we had Jay’s brother and my parents over for dinner.  Jay made tuna and fillet steak, I made roasted cauliflower, clams, rice and brownies.  I don’t know about your family but when my husband offers to cook dinner, it means he’ll cook some kind of meat, while I cook rice, vegetables and everything else.  But hey, I’ll take it! πŸ˜‰
I know Mother’s day is hard for some women.  Women who can’t conceive, women who want to get married and have children, women who had a miscarriage… my heart goes out to you and I thought about you a lot at this particular time.  I don’t know what you are going through but I hope you know that I respect and honor you every year on Mother’s day.  But one thing we all do have in common and can celebrate is that we all have mothers of our own!  I hope all our mothers felt loved on this special day.

mother’s day β™₯

May 9, 2011~ Etc.

woke up to my kids running into the room yelling,
“mommy, mommy! open your present, open your present!”
and the present was a guitar! exactly what i’ve been wanting!
now i just need to learn how to play. and practice singing too.
i tried to take a picture of me with my guitar and jay decided to join in.
all other times he never wants to take pictures, but the only times when
i don’t want him in the pictures, he wants to chime in. what’s up with that?
jay made me a lovely breakfast and we had my parents over for dinner.
it was a wonderful mother’s day.
we got her a stationary bike that she’s been wanting to get
dear mother,
you are the most perfect, beautiful, pure, kind person i know
i couldn’t have asked for a better, more loving, caring, supportive, sweet
mother and i’ll be eternally grateful to God for that.
my goal is to become more like you everyday.
hope you had a happy mother’s day mom.  i love you forever.

I like when Jay wants to be in your pics cause he ALWAYS makes me laugh! Love it.
Did I ever tell you I met your mom once? I was at your house and watch Korean soaps with her for a little bit. I don't know if she'd remember me, but I remember I was still an awkward and shy BYU freshman and she made me feel welcomed and at ease. She was so nice.
And I think I met you briefly then too, cause you were a busy high school butterfly running out the door. πŸ™‚
