MOM GUILT IS REAL BUT SO IS DOG MOM GUILT!

We all have mom guilt, right? Well, have you heard of dog-mom guilt? Me neither, but it’s real because I sure have it! I’ve told you before that I always feel guilty that our dog doesn’t get as much attention as he did when we only had two kids. But with three kids, it’s so overwhelming and busy that our dog gets overlooked during the day and it’s mostly at night when Jay comes home from work that Achilles finally gets the love and attention that he deserves. I feel like I am always telling Jay, “I already have mom guilt, I don’t need any more guilt! We really need to get another dog so he has a friend to play with!” We are searching for another Shiba Inu, but we want to rescue a dog, and it’s hard to find a Shiba Inu that’s a rescue dog. But we keep looking, and I have faith that one day we will find just the perfect dog for Achilles and our family!

One of the reasons why Achilles is an outdoor dog and it’s hard to let him inside the house during the day when I have a 2-year-old and it’s just me, is because he sheds A LOT. We read up on Shiba Inus before choosing the breed and they said this breed doesn’t shed much, but only twice a year. Well, it seems like he’s shedding all the time, especially in the spring and fall. He sheds like three plastic bagfuls a day. It’s insane! I already vacuum once a day, at least in the kitchen and living room area, and I don’t want to vacuum more than I already do, so that’s one of the major reasons why he stays outside.

Another reason? We have carpet in our kitchen. Oh, yes we do.

Don’t be jealous! The awesome thing about this carpet is if you drop something, it disappears into the carpet so it doesn’t look as messy! Haha. I seriously hate having carpet in the kitchen. We also have it in the bathroom. Don’t even get me started on that.

Remember this post four years ago when Jay bought himself a Dyson vacuum for Father’s Day? Probably the only time he willingly and happily posed for the camera? Yeah, he loves vacuums. So when I told him that I agreed to work with Dyson, he was actually excited for once that I blog! Haha! I mean, he’s very supportive of my blog and helps me out by taking pictures when necessary, but being supportive and being excited are two different things. We already have a regular Dyson vacuum, but we don’t have a cord-free vacuum so I was really excited to try it. And already owning a Dyson and loving it (it’s honestly the best vacuum I’ve ever owned), I had pretty high expectations of the Dyson V6 Absolute Cord-Free Vacuum.

And I was not disappointed! Some things I love about the vacuum are:

  1. It is super lightweight.
  2. The attachments attach and come off super smooth and easy. I don’t know why I love this about Dyson, but I really do! So smooth and easy.
  3. I LOVE vacuuming the stairs. Vacuuming with a cord is a pain, but I didn’t realize just how much of a pain it is until I used a cord-free vacuum! So much easier and faster, since you are not worrying about the cords.
  4. It is strong. I was expecting the suction to not be as strong since the vacuum is so lightweight, but it sucks up everything just great. It’s a very powerful, lightweight vacuum.
  5. It comes with an attachment for pet hairs and hardwood floors. Awesome!!!

Since we got this vacuum, we have let Achilles into the house more! Since I don’t need to plug it in and worry about the cords being long enough or having to plug it in different outlets throughout the house, it’s not as big of a hassle to vacuum anymore, and it doesn’t overwhelm me letting in Achilles and needing to vacuum afterwards. And as a mother who feels the mom guilt constantly, I will be a forever-loyal fan of anything that helps lessen my guilt.

Cleaning doesn’t have to be a chore. With Dyson V6 cord-free vacuums, you can clean from floor to ceiling with Dyson power, without the hassle of a cord. Clean carpets, cobwebs in corners, or convert to handheld mode for countertops, couches and car interiors. No more lugging, plugging and re-plugging the old corded vacuum – just un-dock and go.
