I think it’s time.

April 1, 2009~ Etc.

When your child comes up to you as she’s pointing to her diaper saying, “pee pee or poo poo”, then goes to the bedroom to grab a diaper and then hands it to you and lies down on the ground as she waits patiently for you to change her… I think it’s time to start potty training. And I have NO clue. Any suggestions?

You need to get her own little potty and pull-ups that she can pull up and down herself. Girls usually potty train themselves easier and earlier. Call me…mom

I just did my girl last November. Get the book, Potty Training in Less than a Day. That helped me a lot. And there’s a DVD that I borrowed from our local library called, “Potty Power” that totally brainwashed my kid to go potty by herself. And mostly, you will need a lot of patience and endurance. 🙂

She’s kinda young-so don’t be discouraged if she decides she’s not ready. Just go at her pace.
Also, pull-ups are expensive… i recommend showing her how to take off the regular diaper and when she’s a bit older, just put her in undies. 🙂

We just slapped some “big girl panties” on Kylee, showed her the potty and gave her tons to drink. We rewarded her EVERY SINGLE TIME she excreted anything into the pot! I also showed her how to take her deposit and put it in the toilet and flush…mostly so she got used to the flushing sound and the toilet in general…OK…jeez and because I didn’t want to do it :)! It took 3 days and she had it down (I gave her liquid non-stop for those 3 days). She was 2 years and 3 months old! Good luck!
