halloween is near!

October 21, 2011~ Etc.

i didn’t really care for halloween until i became a mother.  seeing my kids get so excited with the fact that people everywhere will just give you free candy with the magic words “trick or treat” and a chance to get dressed up as a family in costumes,(before they start getting embarrassed by it and become too cool for us)
what’s there not to love?
so it’s naturally become a tradition that i make the family’s costumes each year.  if i find a really good deal on a costume that’d be cheaper than to make then i buy it, but other than that, i try to make it myself.
so would you like to take a stroll with me to the halloween of the past of my family?
on our family’s first halloween, we were the football clan.
(in this picture i was 5 months pregnant with our second child
even before my first child was a year old.  crazy right?)
our second year we were king triton and his mermaids.
and our third year we were hello kitty and the chococat.
oh, you know you’ve been outnumbered by the x chromosomes when you wear
a skirt and tights and dress up as a mermaid and a kitty for halloween. πŸ˜‰
so i’ll be spending my weekend sewing.
hope you have a happy weekend!

I love your matchy match costumes every year. When we were without kids we were way more into halloween, funny huh. Now it is just soo much work to come up with costumes that are 1. creative 2.awesome 3. inexpensive or free 4. easy peasy cheesy.

So my favorite is the pregnant cheerleader πŸ™‚ But the mermaid is FANTASTIC! I may have to borrow your mermaid costume next year for baby girl

What a cool daddy! As much as my husband loves our princess, he will NEVER put on those costumes. Here in Mexico we are not so into Halloween, but this year we are going to a costume party and I am still trying to convince him to wear an Indiana Jones costume!!!! I canΒ΄t wait to see your costumes this year!

The thing is though even before we were married he wore tights for Halloween all on his own will. He was a Peter pan and another year a ninja turtle which both required green tights. So I think he secretly likes it. But shh, don't tell him I told you. πŸ™‚

    Thanks for all your comments!
