General Conference

April 8, 2013~ Etc.

We enjoyed General Conference this past weekend with just us family.  We usually invite some friends over for some loco moco(Hawaiian cuisine of white rice, hamburger patty, fried egg topped with gravy) while watching the morning session of General Conference, but this weekend Jay and I were both hashed(lack of sleep+allergies=bleh) so we kept it chill.  On Saturday during conference, we ate french toast, and thanks to all the creative mothers out there via pinterest, my kids were entertained most of the sessions(download activity one, two, three, four).  Between the sessions, Jay took the girls ice skating and came home with delicious hamburgers & fries from Burgers Supreme.  On Sunday we watched conference, ate shrimp tacos and many snacks in between, and went on a family walk.  The girls love driving their little car to the church parking lot and parking their car in one of the stalls.  When we came home we had a movie & popcorn night and we got to cuddle with our girls the whole time, which was wonderful.

Looks like another fun family event with good eats!
On another note I have a blouse that looks like the start of a teeny tiny snag and I'm afraid it will run. I believe it is made of polyester. Any helpful tips/suggestions of what I could do to prevent the snag?

So cute that your girls were that engaged during conference! I probably need to print out stuff like that to do so that I don't sit down and just fall asleep. πŸ™‚

I would try liquid stitch or clear nail polish! Hope that helps, that's what I would do anyway. πŸ™‚

We usually invite people over for Sunday morning breakfast/conference watching too! It's fun to break out of our usual friends and invite new people over. I've never heard of loco moco before. This conference we served homemade granola (or cereal for the pickier children) with yogurt, pineapple, banana muffins, and latkes with salsa; it was fun to do it continental style this time. But I totally understand being ready for a break and taking it easy on a Sunday morning too. πŸ™‚

What exactly is the General Conference? Is it something LDS affiliated?

Hi Autumn, it is by the LDS church. They have it twice a year where the leaders of the church speak on variety of topics such as purpose of life, the atonement, Forgiveness, how to find happiness, etc. It is awesome! You can view or listen to it here, http://www.lds.org/general-conference. If you have more questions, feel free to ask me! πŸ™‚
