Fall sightseeing

October 8, 2012~ Etc.

My brother is in town for a few days and we are so thrilled!  He works for the embassy so he’s always busy and traveling all over, but he called me a week ago to tell me that he’s coming and wanted to keep it a surprise to our parents.  The day came and I secretly picked him up at the airport, and surprised our parents. The look on their faces were classic. It was great.

So we are soaking up all the time we get with him.  My brother is an amazing guy, with the utmost integrity(he’s single, eh hem.  did i mention he’s a genius & graduated from Harvard? eh hem).  And the Fall season is gorgeous here in UT so we went sightseeing up on the mountains.  At one location where we stopped to see the scenery, Achilles kept smelling something 2 feet down from the sidewalk so we looked closely and it was a deer carcass!  It blended so well with the colors of the fall leaves, we didn’t even notice at first.  We quickly started walking away and my 3 year old Ana said to me all sad, “Mommy?  Is that one of Santa’s dead reindeer?”  So I told her yes, with one of Santa’s reindeer being dead, he cannot ride the sleigh anymore so she won’t get any presents this year. Okay, I didn’t say that but I was tempted to.  It’s hard to be a good mom sometimes.

p.s. I’ll be posting my DIY project tomorrow!
