St. George Marathon

October 9, 2013~ Etc.

photos via their fb page
After Jay ran his first half marathon back in May(see post here), he decided to run his first full marathon as well.  So he signed up for the St. George Marathon hoping to get picked and he got lucky and got in the race!  I don’t understand him or the millions of people who run full marathons, but I do think they are amazing.  26.2 miles, insane I tell you!
Jay called me the last two miles of the race(we decided it’d be best for me to stay home with my bebes while he went with his brother) because he said the last few miles were the hardest and needed an extra motivation.  So the girls and I chanted, “Go daddy, go daddy!” the whole time while he face timed with us and finished the race!
Who looks that hot right after crossing the finish line of the marathon?  My husband, ya’ll.
I am so proud of him!  I thought he’d be bed-ridden the next day but he vacuumed the whole house, did laundry and helped take care of the kids.  If it was me, I’d use that as an excuse to not do any chores for two full weeks.  It’s like giving birth, no?  But that is a typical Jay, the guy with the strongest work ethic I know.  Gosh, I love this boy! I mean man.  A real strong, sturdy, manly man.  K, I’m done.

Little chefs in the making

October 4, 2013~ Etc.

I made bread the other day and my daughters insisted on making bread too.  They’ve always been into copying me and trying to do everything I do which especially rings true when it comes to cooking in the kitchen.  One of them got tired along the way(this Japanese milk bread requires a lot of steps but sure is delicious) so she stopped after letting it rise the first time, but my other one stuck around until the very end!  Letting my four and five year old “help” me might make the cooking time go a lot longer with a lot more messes to clean up along the way, but it’s a request I can never refuse and I might even enjoy the messes and the laughter we share together along the way more than the end result itself.
photo via the recipe here, thanks to Flora for introducing it to me!

Sunday Best

September 30, 2013~ Etc.

outfit || dress: asos | heels: zara

I look a little uncomfortable in these pictures, not because I feel silly taking pictures of myself in my outfits every week and posting them in the cyber space, or I don’t really know how to pose like those real fashion bloggers by looking all natural and poised, but because precisely the moment my husband started taking pictures of me in our front door, at least three families/couples walked by our house and was starring.

One thing I love about having a newborn

September 27, 2013~ Etc.

About a year ago, my girls stopped letting me dress them.  When we go shopping for clothes and I hold up a clothing item I like and say, “How about this one?”  They tell me, “Mommy, that’s mommy’s style, not my style.”  If I buy it anyway in hopes that they’ll change their mind and wear it later, they end up never wearing it.  So now I take them shopping and reluctantly let them pick out their clothes.  It’s not so fun anymore. They used to dress so cute when they let me dress them, but now, not so much!  But I guess there are more important things in life than having my girls try to be the best dressers in town.
And (*insert an evil laugh here) good thing I have my baby to dress him in whatever I please!  So glad he doesn’t know or care what clothes he’s wearing.  I figure I have at least a few years until he stops letting me dress him and starts voicing his opinions about his clothes.  And when that time comes, I’ll just pop out another baby and then another, and so on!  Okay, I’m so kidding.  The thought of even having another raises my blood pressure.
