Worldwide $100 Bump Brooklyn Giveaway

October 23, 2013~ Etc.

We have a giveaway for you this week from Bump Brooklyn, a one-stop maternity-styling shop boutique that offers exquisite clothes, workout wear, pampering products, diaper bags, jewelry, nursing bras, and everything in between!  Bump Brooklyn was founded in June 2007 by two fashion-conscious moms(who bonded in a mommy-baby yoga class) who recognized that there was a void of stylish maternity fashion.   They have a boutique in Brooklyn(464 Bergen St.) and I love that each item is carefully selected by these two mamas from many brands and designers, and I gotta say, they have killer taste because I love everything their store has to offer.  I’ve selected some of my favorites below, and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
1 || 2 || 3 || 4 || 5 || 6 || 7 || 8 || 9
I chose number 3, the Boba baby carrier to try out, because on the description of the product it says, “We are thrilled to have this carrier at Bump.  We have tried a lot of carriers, and without question this is our favorite.”  Well, sign me up then because I feel like I just talked to a friend who’s already done their research and tried many other carriers!  And they were right, it is very comfortable and I’m very happy with it.  My shoulders are not in pain even after wearing my baby for a couple of hours, and it is very well made.  I love that they truly believe in every product they sell at their store, it’s like having a trusted friend as your personal shopper.
One lucky winner will receive a $100 gift card to Bump Brooklyn.  To enter the giveaway, please visit their site and come back here to leave a comment below this post telling me what your favorite item is from the store.

Nu Skin

October 17, 2013~ Etc.

Nu Skin built a new building that is now attached to their original blue building and Jay’s whole department recently moved their office to the new building.  We went to go visit him at work and to see his new office and it is so nice!  I took lots of pictures so you can get a glimpse too.

this is the front desk when you walk into the building.  I was told the granite table alone cost half a million dollars.  they sure didn’t skimp when building this!
the renovation is not completely done, they’re in the process of finishing it.
it’s right next to the new Provo temple that’s getting built.
Jay’s view from his office
we ate lunch at their new cafeteria
their margarita flat bread/pizza is so good!
how beautiful is their bathroom?
Ana loved the faucet too.
We love Nu Skin. We are so grateful for his job.

Solly Baby Giveaway-International

October 16, 2013~ Etc.

To celebrate baby wearing month, we will be giving away 4 baby carriers for the next 4 weeks!
The first giveaway is from Solly Baby where one lucky winner will receive a baby wrap of their choice from Solly Baby.  Solly Baby asked 8 parents to be photographed in their homes wearing the Solly Baby wrap and Aiden and I got to participate in launching their new Fall 2013 collection.  Aiden got to model their new Fall line at only 10 days old, and he is Solly Baby’s youngest model yet!
I have the natural & grey stripe wrap from Solly Baby and it is the least bulkiest baby wrap I own.  Every time I put it on, Aiden stops crying and most of the time falls asleep in it!  I love the light grey and cream stripes because it is a neutral color that matches whatever I’m wearing and it fits my personality.  I love stripes.  Obsessed is more like it.  Another thing I love about their wrap is that it has an attached pouch in the end where I can just roll it up, and it also has a little pocket within the pouch for keys, chap-stick, what have you.  It is a very smart wrap that’s been well thought out.  Elle, the owner of Solly Baby is the sweetest who started this company when she had her second child and was frustrated with some of the baby carriers out there.  I love companies that are started by a mama and helps other mamas lives be easier!
To enter the giveaway, please visit their site and come back and leave a comment telling me which wrap you’d choose if you’re the winner!  Best luck everyone!

A birthday lesson

October 15, 2013~ Etc.

the birthday boy about to go to work this morning
It’s this sexy guy’s birthday today!  If you were to ask me one thing I regret the most in my marriage, it’ll be that I didn’t celebrate his 30th birthday with him.  Was I out of town you ask?  No.  I was mad at him because of some stupid fight we had the day before that I honestly don’t even remember.  And guess what?  I didn’t learn my lesson because on his 31st birthday, I was mad at him again.  Why you ask?  Because he farted on me and it stunk.  So I told him to stop, but he did it again.  Yeah…. TMI and pathetic I know but that’s the truth.  I’d like to blame it on the fact that I started my period that day and I was very sensitive and moody, but I’d like to take the full blame and responsibility myself and own up to it.  I was so lame.  And immature.  And just plain stupid. At least by the early afternoon, I remembered what I did on his 30th birthday and learned from my mistake and apologized to him and tried to make up for it, just like I tried to make up his 30th birthday by throwing him a big 30 and a half birthday party(see his 30 1/2 birthday here, 31st birthday here).  But still, the next day I was like, “Did I really get mad at him yesterday for farting on me?  Yes, yes, I did.  Shoot….”
So I made a firm promise to myself last year that no matter what, I’d always let my pride go and celebrate his birthday.  To remember that love is more important than being right.  No matter what.  Unless his fart stinks even more than the one he laid on me last year, then I’d have to think about it.  Just kidding!  Even then.  But that is NOT an invitation, Jay Tyau!
I love you Jay.  Happiest birthday to you.  I’ll make sure of it.

Date with my bebe

October 11, 2013~ Etc.

“I don’t feel important in this family.  Ever since we got baby Aiden, you’re always taking care of him.  You feed me, but that’s it, and then you go take care of baby Aiden.”  my sweet daughter said to me crying a few weeks ago while I was nursing Aiden.  She told me other things that she had been burying inside her little heart as I sat in my rocking chair and her leaning against me, and it broke my heart.  I put Aiden down on the ground as I cuddled with her on the bed and we cried together.  I cried not only because it broke my heart that she was sad because of me, but because I thought I was doing pretty good at this juggling thing with three kids.  I made sure to spend time with my two girls everyday and talk to them and ask them questions, so they wouldn’t feel left out.  But I realized I wasn’t doing that great of a job after all and I was disappointed in myself.  I told her I was so sorry and that she was very, very important to me and how much I loved her.  We cuddled for awhile as we talked together about what I can do to be a better mother to her and I made some goals and made promises to her.
One of the promises I made her was to take her out on a date every two weeks, just me and her.  She got to plan the date so we went to the mall and got an umbrella for her and her sister since it rained all day today, and she picked out a leopard print umbrella like the true fashionista that she is, then we went to The Chocolate Factory and got a caramel apple and she insisted on posing for a picture with her umbrella open, then we went home and built a fort, and watched a part of a movie while eating our caramel apple inside our fort.  She was so happy and I was too.  How I love this girl.  And how much I want to be a better mother to her so she’d always feel important.
Thank you to FabKids for my daughter’s cute outfit!
