Midnight date with my sister

June 25, 2014~ Etc.

My sister is visiting from California and staying at my parents for most of the Summer and I couldn’t be more excited.  I caught a pretty bad virus and started feeling sick the day after we got back from our cruise and I’ve been recovering ever since.  I got all my three kids sick too because I couldn’t stop kissing them.  I tried my best not to kiss them but it’s just such a natural reaction that I would just find myself kissing them all over before realizing that I wasn’t suppose to.  Oops!  So yes, all three of my kids and I are sick right now which is no fun but tonight I felt pretty good and just needed to get out of the dang house!  I was so sick of staying inside and being MIA for over a week.  So I called my sister up at 9 p.m and asked if she wanted to go get dessert.  I picked her up and after going to two dessert places and seeing that they were both closed, we went grocery shopping and had a wild shopping time there.  I bought 2 oranges, 5 sweet potatoes, 8 apples, 1 bunch of cilantro, and 4 sweet corns.  I told you I went wild!  Then we went to Denny’s, a place my sister went to every night when she went to college here at BYU.  She said it was as if time had stopped, nothing had changed in Denny’s, the picture frames, the green paint on the walls, everything was still the same, even 20 years later!
We were there with all the other college kids and we felt like we were one ourselves because we were the loudest and the giggliest ones there.
Thank you Pearl, I really needed to get out of the house and have some time out without the kids.  I love you sister!

Staycation in Park City

June 23, 2014~ Etc.

We took a staycation in Park City during our 3-day weekend.  We stayed at a beautiful hotel Montage Deer Valley and they welcomed us with a handmade poster, cookies & milk and stuffed dolls for the kids and they couldn’t be more thrilled!  Talk about excellent service!

once we settled in our beautiful rooms, we headed straight to the swimming pool.
*mint peplum swimsuit from Target
this guy’s smile just kills me.  just kills me!
we took advantage of Montage’s s’more night and let the kids eat way too much sweets.
Ana admiring her s’mores haha.
then after we put the kids to bed, Jay and I were suppose to have a little date in our hotel room, but he fell asleep as he was putting the girls to sleep the whole night!  so I hung out by myself and got bored and went to bed.  this is the married life with 3 kids. πŸ™‚
woke up in the morning and went swimming again of course!
love the slippers for our little girls.

we spent the day shopping at the outlet malls and eating at Freebirds.  We heard good things about that place and it was pretty good.  We are still devout fans of Chipotle however. πŸ˜‰
For dinner we ate at our hotel’s Burgers and Bourbon.  We loved their fries the most!
the next day we went to the Alpine Slide, one of the world’s longest slide ride.
as Ana and I were going up the ski lift, we looked back to this view and she said, “Mommy!  See those pokey things on top of that mountain?  That’s New York!”, and a moment later, “Mommy!  I see the ends of the world!”  Oh, the life from a 5 year old girl.  It’s so adorable.
We had such a great time.  We love Park City and look forward to going back soon!  Do you love going on staycations as much as I do?  What are some fun things you have done on your staycation?

Provo City Kids Marathon

June 20, 2014~ Etc.

No, we did not run the half marathon.  nor the 5K,  We ran 1.2 miles to complete the kids marathon, we are hard core!  The kids had to run/walk 25 miles on the previous month and then complete the last 1.2 miles at the Kids Marathon in order to get a medal.  My girls are all about getting medals so they were so excited to participate.
My husband is running the full marathon back to back in a few months, he will run one marathon and then exactly a week later he’ll run another.  I think he’s crazy.

What’s in my diaper bag?

June 18, 2014~ Etc.

Jay and I hate buying diapers and wipes.  We buy in bulk, like the 200+ diapers in a box, two at a time along with the big box of wipes but it doesn’t last that long and we have to go back and buy several boxes again not long after!  They’re big boxes of reminders of how much money we spend on keeping our baby’s bum happy.  But the only brand of diapers and wipes we buy is Huggies.  We like Huggies the best and they’re the cheapest diapers offered at Sam’s Club.  So I am excited to partner with Huggies to tell you about their new product Huggies Clutch ‘n’ Clean, it’s so cute and makes me feel like a stylish mama.  As always, I’m very selective about the companies I work with and the wring and the opinions are all my own.

So should we see what’s inside my diaper bag?

this is what it looked like after I took all the things out of my diaper bag.  It has crumbs of all sorts like cheerios, crackers, part of old stale donut, dried fruit, a couple strands of hair, a random small toy, used up baby wipe, old used band-aid(not pictured because that’s just gross), and I didn’t go through all the pockets but who knows what else is hiding in my bag.

One item I would like to focus on is the Huggies Clutch ‘n’ Clean wipes because duh, this is a sponsored post by Huggies, and isn’t it cute?(I will post in more detail about the items in my diaper bag on a later post. ) People keep inventing new stuff for moms and I love it!  I remember when Aiden was about to be born so we went and bought diapers, we found out how some diapers now have markings on the back that tell you whether the baby went pee or poo!  They sure didn’t have that when Adi and Ana were in diapers and it wasn’t that long ago.  And until now, I’ve just used the regular wipes case, the rectangle plastic case.  But the Huggies clutch wipes is a cuter option of holding the baby wipes and looking stylish on the go.
Some cool features I like are the fun strap that make it versatile and accessible anywhere.  You can snap it on the diaper bag, on the stroller, and more.  These clutch wipes are reusable and made with thick plastic so it’s durable.  They offer the three designs above and the first two designs fit my style the best so I purchased them at my local Wal Mart market for $3.97 each, but you can buy it at other retailers like Target, Babies R Us, and K Mart.  It comes with a pack of triple clean wipes inside too.  To purchase yours, click here or click the picture below.
And as always, thank you for supporting my blog, I really appreciate it!
