My fashionable grandmother in-law and my chemist grandfather in-law

February 3, 2015~ Etc.

our always beautiful grandma Truele
3 generations
We surprised grandma Truele last week in HI and just showed up at her door!  She was so delighted and Aiden went right up to her and leaned in and rested his head on her shoulder for a few minutes and just cuddled with her which made grandma so happy.  He is such a cuddle bear, one of the many things I absolutely adore about him.
We had a nice visit and I found out some things about my grandmother in-law & father in-law that I didn’t know before.  I love learning about the history about my family and Jay’s side of the family, history is so fascinating!
Look at how fashionable and absolutely beautiful our grandma is!

I want all her outfits, I can’t get over how fashionable she is.  Her style is impeccable.
I also read the newspaper article about my grandpa being severely injured and having to get his arm amputated during the war.  The first picture is of his personal account and the second picture is the article about him.

I’ve never had the privilege of meeting my grandfather in-law but from seeing how much his family and grandchildren miss him and speak adoringly of him, I know he was a great man and a great father and great grandfather.  Jay tells me how when he lived right next to them as a little boy, he would go over every day after school and he would play chess with his grandpa.  His grandpa never rushed him or told him he was too busy, he always had time for him and took the time to play chess and make him feel important and loved.
I married into a wonderful and beautiful family when I married Jay and I feel so honored to be a part of his great family now.

Back to back mommy daughter date

January 26, 2015~ Etc.

I went on a mommy daughter date with my oldest daughter.  We went to Nickel City and got a lot of tickets, then bought something for her and her sister and brother little gifts with the tickets, then went to Gloria’s Little Italy, her favorite place to get gelato.
The next day, it was my younger daughter’s turn for a mommy daughter date.  I asked her what she wanted to do and she wanted to go to Toys R Us and got Shopkins, these ridiculously overpriced toys that are tiny plastic foods with little faces on it.  Yeah, I don’t get it either.  But she said it wasn’t for her, she really wanted to get it for her sister who loves them, so how could I say no to her selfless plea?  Then she wanted to go to Gloria’s Little Italy too for some gelato.  She usually wants to do what her big sister did on our date, and it’s pretty cute how much she follows her sister.

My girls are growing up so fast.  It really hurts my heart when I look at their younger pictures of even just a year ago and their cheeks were a little more chubby, their hair was a little bit shorter, and they looked littler.  But I know I will say look how little they were when I look at pictures of now, in a few years or even next year, which makes me so sad too!  I hear if little kids start lifting heavy weights, it stunts their growth, maybe I should sign them up for a weight lifting class, isn’t that a great idea? 😉

Sunday Best

January 20, 2015~ Etc.

when you have a photographer friend, she’ll make you pose like crazy, just wait until you see the rest of the pics from Vegas!
My girlfriends and I went to Vegas for 4 days this past weekend!  One of the dresses I wore was this black dress with a flower shoulder detail which is one of my favorite dresses I own, even though my husband makes fun of me every time I wear it(remember this post about how he doesn’t like my style?).  I wear what I want!  Anyway, so here are some better pictures of the dress, it was originally a mid-thigh length so I lengthened it to be a knee length dress.

Sunday Best

January 14, 2015~ Etc.

My outfit: blazer: banana republic | skirt & top: kohl’s | heels: thredup | bag: brahmin(similar)
His outfit: tuxedo onesie: h&m | pants: wal mart | moccasins: freshly picked
I had to bribe my son with a cookie so that he could sit still for just a moment, but up he goes running again!  This boy is all over the place and constantly moving around.  He exhausts me to the core and keeps me on my toes daily  and  I cannot get enough of him.
