3 WAYS TO STYLE A CHAMBRAY DRESS

April 7, 2016~ Etc.

This post is in partnership with Gap Factory, as always I will always be 100% honest and open with you. Thank you for supporting this blog of mine!

3 ways to style a chambray dress

It finally feels like Spring here in Utah which I am so glad about! With Utah, you never know what the whether will be like, it snowed just last week here and it was freezing. But then the next day it was sunny and warm! Utah is so bi-polar I always say. I also always tell my husband that if it wasn’t for the Utah’s long winter, I could live here for the rest of my life. But it’s the winter that gets me, Spring and Fall which is my favorite seasons, is about 2 weeks long and it’s mostly just Winter and Summer.

MY NEXT SEWING PROJECT + BURNT OUT FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

April 5, 2016~ Etc.

socialmedia1

This is my next sewing project I am tackling. Any guesses on what I’ll be making?

And am I the only one that feels like there’s just way too much social media apps? Facebook, blog, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, Pinterest, Periscope, Facebook Live, and the upcoming YouTube Live. I didn’t get Instagram for a long time because I was thinking, “Who cares about me that much? No one cares about me that much and how can I keep up with another social media, I am on the internet way too much as is. We live in such a narcissistic world! No one cares about what I ate for lunch today!” And was a little anti at first but then Instagram replaced blogs pretty much on engagement and it’s the go-to place now and so important for businesses. So now I am regretting not joining sooner! Then soon, Snapchat came out and I dabble on it here and there maybe once a week, if that. And then Periscope came out and I didn’t get it(I still don’t get Snapchat and Periscope that disappears after 24 hrs., it just makes social media seem so much of a bigger waste of time that you spend so much time doing it, only to have it disappear! What the heck?!!) but then I read an article about how Periscope retains your followers and you form a more intimate, trusting relationship with them and I really like that idea of a more personable, engaged, approachable relationship so I have been thinking about doing one, but then I hear now that Facebook Live is killing Periscope in numbers and just like Periscope killed off Meerkat, YouTube Live is projected to kill off Periscope. AHHHH! Technology moves too fast, slow down!

Then I see bloggers and influencers snapping their entire day and lives out to the internet, blogging, then snapping 40 times throughout the day, then Instagramming everyday, and I am thinking, “Do they ever get off their phones? They are on their phones all day long!” and then I get sick of social media even more, because we should live out our lives not through the lens of the camera, but to really be in the moment and LIVE! I go to events and instead of talking and engaging with me, so many are on their phones posting on IG and Snapchat of the event. “LOOK AT ME!!! TALK TO ME! Look into my eyes and engage with me!”

But then I quickly remember I too am obsessed with my phone, not really social media but for checking my emails. Yes, I check my emails constantly, it’s a habit I am working really hard on to break.

I have thought many times that maybe I’ll just get those old school phones where you can only call and text. Those were the simpler days!

Anyway, this is me just venting with not really any conclusion. What do you think about social media? Are we on our phones way too much? And the important question, did it really happen if we never post it on social media? 😉

Sunday Best

March 30, 2016~ Etc.

sb2

I haven’t done a Sunday best in awhile! This wasn’t my Easter Sunday outfit but it might as well could have been, with all the pastels and florals. I have always loved embroidered clothes, but have learned to appreciate it so much more since 2 years ago when Jay and I embroidered our own sweatshirts for our Disney cruise. We made it for 15 people and it took so long!

A BODY CHANGE THAT SURPRISED ME AFTER I HAD MY BABY

March 25, 2016~ Etc.

This post is in partnership with Invisalign. As always, I don’t let that sway my opinion and I will always be honest and real with you guys!

Shall we go down the memory lane and look at pictures of when I had braces 5-6 years ago? When I went into my jump drive to find my braces pictures, I was looking back at 2013, thinking it was 3 years ago when I had braces but it was in the years 2010 and 2011! Holy cow! I didn’t realize it was 6 years ago that I got braces, and 5 years since I got my braces off, I can’t believe it’s been that long!

Then pictures of my girls when they were only 2 and 3 showed up and now my hurt is twisting and hurting that time goes by way too fast. Look how cute and little my girls were!

What I learned in marriage counseling IMG_04941

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that Jay and I started going to marriage counseling very recently. And today was week 2. Week 1 was basically just us talking about how we met & got married. It’s such a complex, long story it took over an hour to tell the story!
