Isn’t motherhood a funny thing? When my two older kids were little, I day dreamed of the day they were older and more self-sufficient. Older so that they wouldn’t rely or depend on me for 100% of their needs and wants, but they could take care of themselves more so that I would have some more alone time.

We all have mom guilt, right? Well, have you heard of dog-mom guilt? Me neither, but it’s real because I sure have it! I’ve told you before that I always feel guilty that our dog doesn’t get as much attention as he did when we only had two kids. But with three kids, it’s so overwhelming and busy that our dog gets overlooked during the day and it’s mostly at night when Jay comes home from work that Achilles finally gets the love and attention that he deserves. I feel like I am always telling Jay, “I already have mom guilt, I don’t need any more guilt! We really need to get another dog so he has a friend to play with!” We are searching for another Shiba Inu, but we want to rescue a dog, and it’s hard to find a Shiba Inu that’s a rescue dog. But we keep looking, and I have faith that one day we will find just the perfect dog for Achilles and our family!
We went to 3 Easter Egg hunts and while my son went to an Easter egg hunt last year, he was only 1 and didn’t know what was going on so this was the first time he actually knew what was going on and he couldn’t get enough! He asked me last night if we could go to an Easter egg hunt again.
For Spring Break last week, we did a staycation and went to stay at a hotel with an indoor water park, the same place we went to for Spring break 5 years ago. Jay and I were talking about the last time we stayed here, thinking it was maybe 2-3 years ago but we were shocked that it was 5 years ago! The girls were 2 and 3 years old, they were right around our son’s age. We didn’t realize how tiny they were when we brought them here last time. Then it made me really sad that in the blink of an eye, the girls grew up so big and it’ll be the same with our boy.
